Ben Rutten - sacked

Club too gutless to make a decision, hoping Rutten will quit on his own accord due to all the media beat up.

No. He’s too nice, just like the club. That’s the core of the problems we’ve got.

I really hoped Rutten could take us to success, I really like the guy - but again… that’s the point. After last year, it’s like he was taken out the back and shot and placed by a Rutten Robot. The club sucked him of any personality.

Agree with this point and @Zimmer below. He comes with the gravitas that’ll give hope to ‘senior’ players and has shown an incredible ability to attract others to the club to fill voids.

He had some busts no doubt but Lake, Burgoyne, Dew and Gibson off the top of my head were guys he topped up with that excelled in flag winning teams. Having said that, it was still built around the guys he had at 18 in Hodge, Mitchell, Buddy, Lewis, Roughy etc and then Breust, Gunston, Smith. Gunston came after a year at Adelaide and I think Sewell and Smith from Ballarat way and maybe a year or two after their draft year.

With Clarko at the helm, the players will be too scared to lose.

That’s the issue and exactly what the senior players have said…….he’s not tough enough on them …….Clarko is perfect for us

Even the footy media have started pushing the narrative that, after the saga we haven’t wanted to rock the boat, we’ve been “yes sir, of course sir” a butler club, and we need to move on from that back to our core and spirit. It surprised me when I heard it, coz I thought it was only Bombers fans that could see that.
And without going into all the line in the sand ■■■■, that’s what this has to be for us, Clarkson or not. Stop bringing apples to the teacher.

Karma always gets people so be humble.

I can’t believe the number of people who are already laughing at North. Farking dog ■■■■■.

It is not even confirmed, not to mention, even if it is confirmed why would you invite karma. Just shut up and enjoy Clarko’s work.

He will burst many a blood vessels by qtr time game round 1… would be a treat

People are not understanding how long this ■■■■ takes. Even at lightning speed there are conversations and back and forths that need to happen.

Yesterday was big, El Presidente changeover and crafting of the joint handover press release. That alone prob too 4 hours. Talk to Clakos manager.

Today would be external review TOR and Clako terms sheet, Clako would need to talk to his team about the change of location and potential $ changes. Might be some requirements to be met there.

Tomorrow and Thursday will be finer details. By that stage what’s the point of a Sacking prior to the game.

And that doesn’t include pressers, videos, talking points, journo back briefs. Staff consultation and briefing. There is a lot of ■■■■ for X and his team to do after the board has nutted out the details. And then they have to go on sacking X and his team after that. Busy AUG to NOV with list, trade and draft in there too.

Have a read of the NM Bigfooty page on this issue and you’ll see why people are hating on North. Bunch of irrelevant tin rattlers.

And the same town as me! I remember watching him play in the last Kaniva Premiership in 1985, in the same year the Bombers won their back to back.

Had the Zone system still been in place when he was drafted, he would have been an Essendon player.

Roger and Glenn, photos hung in the change rooms all the time I played and probably still do. Can’t remember of Clarko’s pivotal subject of Essendon supportership as a kid.

I do remember him taking Franklin and Roughead and maybe another young player back to the Kaniva premiership reunion the same year he was given the Hawthorn job.

North supporters will be dissapointed if we pinch Clarko and Zurharrr, tearing the fabric.
I dont even want Zurharr, but would annoy them

Us pinching clarko and Zurrhar would be it for them.

Club will die.

What a shambles this club is.
Instead of sacking him today we’ve dragged it out, pathetic.

I’m no Rutten fan but ffs show the bloke some respect and tell him straight up our intentions.

I agree with all of that.

However…

Why has nothing happened yet? Let’s get this show on the road.
Sack Rutten, sack X, sack Dodoro, tell Hepps, Hurls and Ham to go away, trade Parish, McGrath, Shiel, Merrett and Langford then finish by signing Clako.

And get it done by 4pm. It’s not that hard.

Maybe Truck can go coach North.

Will secure JHF for long term. Can play completely unaccountable footy and the coach will do nothing about it.
