I think that ship probably sailed around 2007 mate.
Please no, if we donāt get Clarko. Keeping Rutten will be the worst result, worst game plan in history along with mild mannered messages to players whether the execute or not. Teaching them thereās no consequences for not performing. Take anyone else. Worst of Xās cavalcade of terrible appointments.
All jokes aside, heād be an upgrade
Is it feasible that Clarko comes in as a director to Truck?
It would definitely fall into the narrative the club were pushing

My wife was reading over my shoulder.

watching that clip, disappointed that BJ didnāt point at his kids and tell them where they should be playing. Gone soft.
We cannot keep Rutten under any circumstances. Just canāt. The board have given him a public vote of no confidence.
They would have had to have known that there was a risk that Clarkson would not come given how late we are in the process and so there must be a contingency plan to run a comprehensive process for a new coach (albeit late to the party).
If only we didnāt go down the path of a sham internal review initially. Thanks, Xavier.
Heās going to walk straight into the kitchen and swipe all the cereal and pancakes straight off the bench after that performance.
Rutten is done. The club has made it clear theyāve lost faith in him. And rightly so. Heās four years at the club have been disastrous
In fairness to him, he handled yesterday well, and he has to say all the right things to ensure he gets his payout for being sacked rather than any hint of resignation (which was a mistake Brendan McCartney made at the Bulldogs, and cost him financially a lot)
The board needs to meet, tell Rutten heās out, then move to a proper plan around his replacement.
If thatās offer it to Clarko and if he says no do a proper process, then be honest about it

We have a list that will be shown as full of pretenders under a unified and simplified direction.

Ummm noā¦
ANNOUNCE ANNOUNCING DAY

Needs support and some list additions.
We made finals last year then lost Hooker & Walla. They kicked a lot of goals. Turned a lot of games.
Young(est) list.
Rutten to stay.
But the fundamentals of coaching are game plan and delivering messages to players. Both heās terrible at, unless the support does his job and he smiles in the corner itās pointless
Mate, youāve got to be kidding.
Parking whether you think Rutten is a good coach or not, the club canāt keep him on after the way this has been handled. The relationship is likely completely ruined.

Rutten is done. The club has made it clear theyāve lost faith in him. And rightly so. Heās four years at the club have been disastrous
Have they made it clear though? Nothing has been clear at this club for years other than we are a basket case.
Do wonder what level of commitment Clarkson gave to North and whether he feels obligated to see that agreement through?
That said, the appeal of coaching one of the big clubs and all the associated benefits could be an opportunity to good to pass.
Given Essendonās standing in the comp and the fact theyāve been so bad for so long, reckon Clarksonās legacy (if thatās one of the motivating factors) would be greater turning Essendon fortunes around than anything heād achieve at North?
The fact Clarksonās taking his time to decide says heās at least considering the Essendon offer but the media narrative about him going to North is gaining momentum (unfortunately)
In my opion Truck already knows his fate and is probably on a keep quiet agreement in order to receives his 2023 payout.
All of these steps dont just happen, there is always a lot of planning going on in the background.
As much as I dislike Clarkson, I think he is the man for the jobā¦a no nonsense coach that will give direction to the playing group and demand performance and effort, which is where Truck has fallen downā¦the youngens need direction not empowerment
If there was any commitment, I highly doubt this week would have happened so publicly.
I think heās certainly entitled to have gone through a process, received an offer and is just thinking about whatās best for him.
As a recruiter, I know this all too well. Radio silence and an extension of time to think isnāt usually great.
