Ben Rutten - sacked

Exactly. Clarkson wouldn’t be going there without additional resources and the AFL would rather not hand out a priority pick.

I reckon backing Rutten would be the day we actually do put a line in the sand. The day we ignore media, speculation and BS. How? Don’t say a word. Business as usual.

Matter of time? Matter of time?

Blitz does not do a matter of time.

Rutten deserves better than the EFC.

His cornerstone is being Essendon and embracing our history.

Must be their longest meeting ever. Usually its tick, tack, toe.

I don’t know that Essington know how to do better.

But their treatment of Rutten now, is cruel. Tidy up Essendon and do the right thing by this bloke after all he is still under contract. You do not intend to keep him on, so let him go. Stop playing games.

Now that will get Clarko across the line

What has EFC done to Ben?

I wonder how Tigers feel about having no game this week in their build up for finals, just a training run.

The media keep saying that they are getting absolutely nothing out of Essendon so it must be leaking from the Clarkson camp. Maybe Clarkson is using Essendon to drive up his price at Norf.

Oh yeah, great plan. Let’s go after Clarkson, allow Rutten to be publicly humiliated and then go about business as usual.

Foolproof. Were you also one of the fans clapping the boys off the ground on Sunday?

You know what would be hilarious? If the players decide they back Rutten so hard they won’t go on to play and we forfeit the last game. It’s so deliciously bad I kind of love the idea.

I’m pretty f*cking sick of people taking cowardly pot shots at Rutten.

The guy came in. Did his research on the history and culture of the club. He attempted to change the culture of the club by aligning it with its history. Then attempted to implement it into the game plan. That has been more than any ‘hire in’ coaches have done for this club Over the last 20 years.

He hasn’t been able to change the culture of this club in 2 years. The players have been resistant to the hard work required to implement this culture.

The players haven’t been willing to buy into a culture that puts club performance above their own performance. But this is a culture that is true at Board and Executive level also.

Rutten’s performance hasnt been up to scratch…. And he will pay the ultimate price for that. But people taking pot shots at a guy who was sold down the river by our CEO, and has done nothing but try and make this club better by embracing its history. That’s more than any journey man coach has done in the recent history.

We need a coach who will crack the whip and take no bullsh11t. Someone who will not hesitate to drop players regardless of their standing, if they fail to pull their weight.
That alone could be a whole new experience for this club. Leadership is essential on that we have failed miserably for a long time.

Its time to wait and allow what is to come to unfold.

Sadly for Ben Rutten that coach will not be him, even if we do not get Clarko. There is a lot to play out yet.
It is not done and dusted.

Err no I wasn’t, I was one of the one’s screaming my head off.

Have we? Our CEO didn’t. Our President didn’t. Sheedy didn’t. Who did?
