Maybe. I was told Monday morning unequivocally that he was gone. The line that he dropped yesterday when doorstopped that he would coach as best he can for the next five days made me think maybe he’s been given the option. I can’t understand why he would want to endure the shitt show unless his payout hinges on it.

I would actually love to see this - and two years down the track Truck holding up the Cup.
I would absolutely love it. Geelong and Richmond, and even Melbourne have held their ground and ended up reaping rewards.
But I can’t see a way back from here. We don’t know our ■■■■ from our face and we’ve ■■■■■■ up so many opportunities. Just add this to the pile.

Don’t feel sorry for Rutten. It’s a win/loss, cut throat business. He’s had 4 years, 4 to put his stamp on this group and we still don’t have a discernible brand of footy. The most damning traits are how the team are poorly prepared and their wildly fluctuating levels of effort. The bloke may have integrity but is lacking as a senior coach
