Zaharakis / McGrath

Ruck
Bellchambers

Mids
Shiel / Heppell / Merrett
Myers / Langford / Parish

Forwards

I had Heppell in the back group initially but was a forward short so put Ambrose into the back group, Heppell into the mids and moved Smith forward.

Before you laugh at this side, ask yourself how good they all are by foot.

B. Redman. Hurley Francis
HB. Saad. Hooker. McKenna.

C Zerrett. Shiel. Fantasia.
R. Bellchambers. Stringer. Smith.

HF Begley. Daniher. Langford.
F Walla. McKernan. Baguley

Int. Heppell. Parish. Zaharakis. McGrath.

Most people have named smith at half forward yet he just won the b&f playing on the ball

Ambrose in 2017 and early rounds of 2018 was a walk up start.

In 2019, highly doubtfull

Yeah this year he played mid/fwd, which I expect he will continue to do next year.

this is the closest to the best 22
brown may not get a game if gleeson plays or we recruit another a / b grade player

Ambrose

Then I expect Francis to be a regular, Begley to challenge for a spot, Mutch and probably Laverde if his body is right.

And guys like Dea, Harts, Bags as depth and a young guy like redman, Ridley etc to break through.

Very healthy list.

Is he keeping Hurley, Hooker or Francis out of the team?

2017 and early 2018 Hooker played forward. His return to the backline means Ambrose is out. Francis in the 3rd tall defender role because he offers ALOT more attack.

Exactly. If we have a fully fit list then thereā€™s no way he plays before those three. If JD isnā€™t right early and Hooksy plays forward (oh no! Not this debate) then he could slot in but I donā€™t see it otherwise.

The disposal skills of the current group are no where near the 2000 team
Certainly inconsistent in that department.

This is true. But we do have kids with better disposal skills than their older teammates. We just have to pick them.

Are you saying that you want to drop Shiel already? Controversial.

Not quite what I was going for. But I really like the idea of being controversialā€¦ so letā€™s run with it.

I meant ā€œsayingā€ btw. Not staying. Doh!

Best 22:
B: Francis - Hooker - Guelfi
HB: McKenna - Hurley - Saad
C: McGrath - Heppell - Smith
HF: Laverde - McKernan - Stringer
F: Tippa - Daniher - Fantasia

R: Bellcho - Shiel - Merrett

INT: Langford - Baguley - Myers - Parish

EMG: Gleeson - Redman - Ridley - Zaharakis

*** I know Zaharakis will play, I just donā€™t like him at all. Turns it over too much. Just try to ignore that and judge the rest lmao***

Laverde in the starting 18. Wow

(Assuming heā€™s fully fit).
His potential is scary good but potential is a big word.
If he can get his body right, trust me he has the potential top be a top 5-10 player on our list.

I donā€™t see Zaharakis as a turnover merchant at all.

Hepp and Myers on the other handā€¦
