The one that made me explode was the non 50 to guelfi. Stewart dead set looked straight at the umpire pointing for the free our way, hesitated and then handballed the ball away in the opposite direction. It was just stunning, as if Stewart knew there was no way the ump would ping him for it. Compare that to the McGovern 50 a few weeks back.
The bowes non holding the ball at half forward was shocking too. Compare that to the last minute Caldwell one v gc.
Our free kick differential is really good this year but our umpire error score differential would be way way out of whack. Happened v norf, Richmond and West coast too where the umps made every effort to keep them in the game. Was it 3 or 4 goals to the Eagles last week from umpire errors.
I’m over it. We just don’t get a fair shake, week in week out.

Nothing was debatable about the Bowes one, it’s clearly HTB.
That third qtr was horrendous.
But in general the game is in a poor state, the stand rule being the worst for me.

I won’t even acknowledge this defeat because of the blatant cheating by the umpires…it directly affected the result and cost us four points. Probably going to cost us a top 4 spot.

Same. After the Menzies rushed behind you just knew the game was over. I don’t blame the players at all.

Can you imagine how long the stewards would have had the umpires in the rooms after the game if the VRC oversaw the match?
It is hard to believe that the AFL is so cavalier (really meant to say corrupt) that matches are turned by 10 -15 minutes of umpires who blatantly disregard the rules and yet there is never any correction or bringing umpires to task.

What tends to happen with us is that after the umpires rob us and we get angry, they double and triple down and basically decide that if we’re going to boo then we’ll just ■■■■ you over even harder.
The way the sport is run is a ■■■■■■■ joke
Couldn’t give a ■■■■ how badly it affects umpires at grassroots level. The clubs and media should be at liberty to publicly abuse and shame these oxygen theives.

What about the Ridley htb? Takes possession, gets tackled immediately with no prior. Ridiculous
It was seen at the time as part of the AFL trying to kill off Fitzroy narrative.

If that’s the case then dozens of one arm tackles holding the ball frees should be paid every week and they are not. It’s nearly always a ball up. And more often occuring blatant illegal disposal (attempted kick that misses the ball especially) is hardly ever paid. Or the ball spilling out in a good tackle is also hardly ever paid.
No they pick one 30 out in front when the game is in the balance.

Whenever Geelong kicks a goal they play all this loud techno music with strobe light show. I’ve now got epilepsy. This is not AFL.
And their brain dead announcer had the screech of a run over cat. All ■■■■■■■ night.
Overall a perfect night.

Whilst we are on the Ridley subject, how can Tyson Stengle (175cm) out mark Ridley (195cm) from behind inside the 50?
By clearly having hands in the back and pushing him in the back in order to take the mark.
What was the call - pushing in the back?

My dear old Dad was a Bookmaker at Moonee Valley for many years.
He said that only two honest things in horse-racing were the Bookies and the Horses.

The best part is the commentators calling it out. They are so sanitised by the AFL. Chanel 7 and Fox make them toe the AFL line in fear of lost contract $.
It’s supposed to be a game for the members/people. They try to pretend it’s a non profit organisation in the AFL
