Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare” this century

I reckon people just need to accept that umpires are ■■■■ the majority of the time and move on.

I am one of the biggest umpire bashers out here, but after watching the game in the cold light of day just then, I will say that there were really only two controversial decisions in the game. Don’t get me wrong, plenty could have gone either way, but I wasn’t upset about them.
The first decision was Peter Wright man in front in a marking contest. All players stop thinking mark should be paid and umpire calls play on. Sorry, but the man in front has been paid ever since the game was invented, very bad call by the umpire.
Decision number two was when the Eagles player slid in on top of the ball in our forward pocket. He was tackled by Cox? but no decision made. Even the commentators said the decision had to be one or the other. If it wasn’t a high tackle then it was a clear holding the ball.
Other than those two, if you watch the game objectively, I think that was as close to the best umpired game I have ever seen in Perth. No wonder all the Eagles fans were peeved. They didn’t get their usual armchair ride from the umpires.

Yeah to be honest, although I remember yelling at the tv a lot they were the only two I remember today.

The 2MP non mark was it for me. They all stopped for the mark. Its like the umpires all looked and waited for someone else to pay the mark

If it assists, the umpires got a fair razz from the locals as they walked off after the match. Then again, every loss they suffer is automatically assumed to be as a consequence of a Victorian-led and executed conspiracy only Dan Brown could devise and articulate, so meh. And yeah Wright’s non mark decision was a bit off.

The 50 against Goldstein was pretty ■■■■

Agree that 50 was BD. Their arms were tangled Goldy couldn’t do anything else there I really don’t think he was trying to knock the ball out.

I thought the down field against Durham was pretty damn soft. He didn’t drive through the contact, was pretty incidental

Was trying to type that.

You’ll notice Reid tried to pick him off at the centre bounce, which is why they had words. Then Kelly just collapsed.

But that’s gonna happen from
Time to time.

Take the W. It was the least worst umpiring

Yeah, Reid also had just brazenly ducked into goldy’s tackle and been rewarded. I think everyone’s blood was up after that and ump was trying to reimpose some control but their was really nothing in the Kelly one

Umpiring was tripe tonight but you know it’s hurts more when your team is bad, I can handle bad umpiring much better when we are winning ha ha

There were about 10 fifties against GWS for dodgy behaviour “on” the mark.

For an experienced umpire, you’d hope Matt Nicholls is corrupt for his sake. His decision making his horrendous.
