I think the umps worked very hard to keep norf in it today and make sure it didn’t blow out. Refused to pay holding the ball against norf across the middle. Allowed their defenders to get away with absolute murder in our forward line

Poor goldy had a bad day but he was blatantly being held or blocked on several occasions.
And xerris goal, he was allowed to run off the mark and goldy stuck there standing because ump didn’t call play on

Tinfoil hat time, but the umpiring directive almost appeared to be:

1st half (and a bit): Go easy on North so that the game is as tight as possible. Give their fans some hope by limiting the damage on the scoreboard. Make Essendon earn every free and give North anything halfway to being a free kick.

Late in the game: Give Essendon cheapies that are barely there to even up the ledger, if required. At least by this stage, most North fans will stay until the end and be more likely to rock up in future weeks.

Admirable the maggots want to even up the game to make for a more exciting spectacle for the disinterested and keep the supporters of the crap team paying up for the AFL’s scammery.
But does anyone remember what the fkg maggots did when we were the worst team in the comp because we had so many players suspended due to the AFL/ASADA/WADA stitchup?
Hint: they did NOT try to even up ANY of those games. They joined in with the rest of the other Rsoles in kicking us with even more passion when we were down.
