Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare” this century

That was genuinely one of the weirdest ■■■■■■■ things I’ve ever seen.

Yeh nah.
It is not about whether it was a mark or not, he clearly marked it.
It is whether or not he juggled it over the line, or controlled it before the line.
That is, always has, and always will be the goal umpire’s call. Just as it would be the boundary umpire’s call if it were on the boundary.

Apart from last night of course.

Well it is… if he juggled it over the line, then it is not a mark.

Yes, you are right that it is the goal umpire’s call to state the soft call on if he marked it.

The umpire had no business changing the soft call.

He was a rubbish umpire as well. This doesn’t surprise me in the least.

Yep, he had a penchant for planting himself in the opposition forward line and giving them multiple frees. Won a game for the Swans agsinst us off his own whistle.

Hopefully they track him down.

Fraud of an umpire too!

Probably made millions off gambling on games.

And people on here criticized us for cheering when he got knocked out.

Hopefully they catch him and his life turns to ■■■■ - couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

How totally unsurprising.

He was the most corrupt umpire I have ever seen. Hopefully karma gets the prick.

For his overlords at AFL House.

I’m pretty sure he was the one who got in trouble for umpiring 3 bulldogs games in a row and they got a ridiculous amount of free kicks in those games. Absolute blight on the game.

B-b-b-b-but the umpires could NEVER be corrupt or cheat. Most honest citizens we have!

I’m not conspiracist, nor am I a revisionist, but he’s easily the worst umpire I’ve seen. I’d love to know if he is guilty of anything during his time as an Umpire. It’s certainly not inconceivable that someone who has no problem ripping his employer off to the tune of $8m might have abused his position as an umpire.

It’s too far in the past so I can’t remember the specifics but I remember one game against Sydney being so so so bad. He used to smile as he explained free kicks he’d paid against us.

What about the west coast loving flog, with an absurdly lop sided free kick count towards them.
Was it Margetts?

I remember that game.

Genuinely the only time I thought a riot would break out at the footy

Yep. No coincidence that West Coast’s fall down the ladder was the same time Margetts left.

They’re not kind to him on facebook or reddit, either. Not exactly reliable sources but seems a real scumbag if this stuff is true.

it sounds like it is.

if only he registered his company for GST, he might have been able to get away with it. 8.7 million in payments over ten years would have been over the GST turnover Threshold.

trying to screw the government as well tripped him up.

This was the bloke who once paid the free kicks 17-1 the Dogs favour against the Crows.
I’m thinking he may have had a gambling problem

■■■■ I remember that, I can’t believe the AFL let it go on as long as it did

was this the game when he got KO’D ?
