Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare tonight” (Part 1)

You know what some say, a win, is a win, is a win.

Our bad run with umpiring will continue until someone at the club calls them out on it. Can you imagine McGuire, or Chris/Brad Scott or Alistair Clarkson putting up with it? But as usual it’s only the fans prepared to make a fuss.

I notice Eddie has been very quiet on Free Kicks this year especially as the Pies sit on top of the free kick differential ladder in the positive @ +76. https://www.triplem.com.au/sport/afl/news/afl-free-kick-differential-ladder-round-16-2018

Tigers are on the bottom @ -72 which, if things keep going as they are i think we should catch the Tigers before the seasons end.

I had exactly the same thought but Saad should have turned to the ump and called for it.

As if that would have changed the umps mind.

It would have made him think twice

One of the ones that really ■■■■■■ me off was when Cox crashed into the back of hepp in the making contest with no eyes on the ball and no attempt to mark. Cost us a goal too

It was.

Hey, at least this week we weren’t pinged for being pushed into the back of another opponent!

The umpire did pose dramatically for a few seconds before pointing his arm in the right direction, though…

Pool room. Straight to.

And when Sidearse was tackled a second time in the same possesion (which has always been HTB) and stepped over the boundary still holding the ball with Smith hanging on to him it was “throw it in”.
At least Smith remonstrated with the chumps.

Richmond doesn’t care about giving away frees. They’re always up the ground and give them time to set up defensively.

people are making a lot of comments about the free kick tally.

what was much more devastating to the team yesterday were those not paid and when and where they weren’t paid.

THIS. Umpires only ever have to justify the frees they give, not the ones they miss. So if you dont give a team any, you don’t have to justify it!

Watching the replay isn’t any easier.

Seriously Heppell in d50, stands under a high ball that p***k Cox shoulder charges him, making no attempt to mark “play on”, lead to Longs htb and WHE goal. BS.

MCKernan being called to play on even though the umpire spent 15 seconds lining him up. BS.

They went out of their way to make themselves look even dumber in the third quarter by paying dodgy frees our way.

How did Smith’s tackle get referred to MRO and not Cox? So that MRO could justify the free against Smith

What a frking joke of an organisation. If the umpire paid the free after a 360deg spin it wouldn’t have been an issue. But no, let the player hold the ball for 980 degrees. And he didn’t even hurt him, and he had a free arm.

FFS. That MR statement (even with “no charge”) made me vomit all over my floor.

What?

He didn’t even hit his head on ground and got straight back up. It was just a good tackle.

I agree with the commentators saying if player is worried about head, let go of the footy and use other arm to help brace

What’s the bet Smith gets done for a week just to rub salt into wounds of us being fkd over.

No charge laid “Below the force required for a charge” and interestingly said it was adequately dealt with by a free kick which I interpreted as a big FU to Essendon fans.
