I think they are Yellow-tailed black cockatoos. I’ll wait for confirmation from one of our experts.

I just googled and that seems correct. Impressive looking birds , the Hakea looks healthy as well.

Magnificent critters to see, it’s a bit startling to realise how much bigger they are than white cockies (racist!). I can hear a few in the trees outside as I type this. Very distinctive squeaky door call.

Yes, they were huge, at least 60 cm head to tail I think.
I didn’t realise how big from watching them fly past.
A much more pleasant call than the Sulphur Crested and Corellas.
