Iced Earth came on during my gym workout and I was like “hey, wonder what happened to Jon Schaffer” so did some googling.
Sounds like a classic case of “I’ll stand up for what I believe in . . . until it inconveniences me”
Schaffer update: apparently been ok’d to enter witness protection and is agreeing to testify against other Oath Keeper members 
Anyway. Not sure why this Italian band called themselves Australasia but they’re not half bad. Kinda post-rocky.
Stu Block was openly supporting the insurrection on FB as it was happening. Did he say he left because of Schaffer’s actions?

Well, there are times and events when you have to take stock and re evaluate your life, work, and trajectory for the future. That being said I have informed Jon and his current management that I must announce my resignation from Iced Earth with immediate effect.
Before I made any personal decision I needed the last few weeks to process the situation as well as respect others in our camp processing the situation. I thank you all very much for respecting this. Ah yeah, i saw Devildriver roughly 10-15 years ago supporting fear factory. underrated band. i reckon it was Dez’s best work
Bleak was the song that got me into heavier metal, but Blackwater Park is the best song from that album.

Watching them live on a Sunday U/18s show at the Corner in 2004 was one of the best days of my life.
Mike Howe has passed away at the age of 55. Such a great voice for Heretic and then Metal Church. RIP Mike.
