Blitz Probe Cycling

Might have got some foreign objects in the bearing race. You might have ground it up with that final effort?

Crit race Saturday arvo :D

And?

Let’s just say I won’t be allowed to race C grade again…

Spent most of the race on the front, was the only one to attack and shell riders off the back (3 times) and won the sprint by 100m…

Saw the pics, well done.

Looked like you made the race your b*tch.

Yeah and all the congrats I get for it was "congrats on beating a girl" :D

Welp, this is how it begins. Go to LBS to get a fit, as I’ve been getting some back and neck pain. Turns out the stock bars on the Cell had ZERO straight bar behind the hoods, so I was contorting my hands, arms and shoulders to get purchase. 30 minutes and a 3T Ergosum bar later… Oh my God. The difference it makes!

Next, new Fizik bar tape. And maybe a saddle.

And put me down for the Dropped kit. That’s awesome

Funnily enough, rode in this morning with a very heavy (single shoulder strap) bag... no pain.

Amazing how much difference a few inches of contact surface makes

Can just picture you now with your hipster messenger bag.

So I mighta kinda sorta bought me a Garmin...

Kinda sorta. Right. 510?

Nope. 510 don't come in red and black ;)

And given I also just blew a motza on a set of DA C35 wheels, I really needed to watch the budget. Will be happy with the 500, all good.

Anybody else doing Around The Bay this Sunday?

Next year. My long term goal when starting riding was the full Round The Bay in 2016.

Besides, I'm too busy trying to get 1000km in for the month

Any of youse got a Garmin 810? If so, tell me why I should get that over the 510?

Doing the 210km. Once you factor in the ride to and from home it should be just short of 240km for the day.

That will also push me over 10,000 km for the year (to date).

You choose the 8xx/1000 over the 5xx mostly for mapping.

As an example I do a allot of solo riding and exploring, so if I want to explore an area I am unfamiliar with, I'll create a route on say ridewithgps.com then copy that route to the Garmin and follow it.

If you have no intention of using these feature then go the 5xx route.

After a few experiences getting lost in unfamiliar areas, I wanted mapping as well. But I balked at the Garmin and Magellan cyclo options where you only get mapping with most expensive models.

In the end I got a separate hiking Magellan Explorist GPS with an optional handlebar attachment for under $300 - so I have this on my handlebars beside my existing cateye type monitors (with HRM, cadence, speed, odo, time) so I can look at all the screens at once.  If you want to add maps and already have the other stuff, and you're not obsessed with go-fast aero minimalism I think this is better option (i.e. lot cheaper).

Includes camera, voice recorder, waterproof and can also accept gpx files and waypoints from pc and web software.

I did 25km on the rollers last saturday  finally built up the confidence to clip in on bike on rolers. Im still in between the doorway for the time being though, my baance is getting better.

Respect.
Mechanic at LBS leant me a set last wet season. The bruise on my leg from coming a gutsa is still apparent!
I know he's keen to sell them though, and have considered taking the plunge again. Pedal stroke perfection is an alluring prospect...
