Matthew knights - power tripper who lost the players after forcing Lloyd out.
Great assistant crap coach.
Hird and Thompson - the saga , had that not have happened I thinK we would’ve gone close in 2013-2014.
Worsfold - I’ll always be greatful that he put his hand up for a club he hated when no one wanted us . But was the same as the end of his west coast days. Plan A and the game had passed him.
Rutten - Great first year. Then the tail wagged the dog . Players sooked and basically got rid of him. From what I’ve been told was very aloof and in over his head . Too nice a guy
BDB - amazing til the bye. Parish comes back a couple of injuries mainly setterfield and draper killed us.
It’s obvious there is a disconnect with someone in the midfield ie Parish.
The others seem to be able to work with whoever is in there however parish no

Last year Parish and Merrett were an awesome combo. I’m not sure what’s changed this year but something certainly has.
Langford deserves better. We should let him leave. Poor bastard.

Essendon needs a hall of shame section at the Hanger. There’s so many records achieved against us it would be good to take the players into the rooms and let them read for hours.

We were also pretty ordinary in the 4-5 weeks before the bye.
1 good quarter against Carlton, fell over the line against North and Richmond, and a low intensity phone-it-in win against WC.
Apart from some quarters here and some patches there (and to be fair, large chunks of the second Port game), we haven’t looked like a genuine side since the first Port game.

So, fifth worst loss in club history. If it’s any kind of consolation, and it’s not really, but a worse loss was in '92.
Maybe things CAN be darkest before the dawn. Maybe we had to have this.
Or maybe it will make zero difference.

If you watch Reid , Jones , Cox etc during draft years, none of them panicked under pressure.
This is the gap between recruitment and development. It’s the crap VFL system and no development that is the core issue.
No point winning flags if your seconds are getting smashed due to the club focusing on one team.
My club played it’s last ever game today due to looking after one team only. The twos juniors got treated like crap for years. So as of today the club doesn’t exist anymore.
I had started the junior program so it shouldn’t happen. But the same idiots there me out of president so they could go back to old ways.
Exactly like Essendon has for 21 years.
Dodoro time is up but he isn’t the main problem.
You could give the Club Phar lap, Makybe Diva, Sunline , Coleman, Lockett, Matthews etc and the club would still turn them to crap
