Bombers pubs/bars?

<span>@<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' class="" href='http://bomberblitz.com/forums/index.php?/user/1488-Nandoz/' title="">Nandoz</a></span>

would be very happy to help you, I am sure something can be arranged to get you into the Neckarstadion. Llike many other fans, am a bit of a traditionalist, still referring to our homeground like this. Let me know when exactly you'll be around. Also, let me know what type of match-viewing you prefer, amongst the more boisterous elemnt of the crowd, or a nice seat in the mainstand, etc.

thanks much for explaining - I must come across like a proper plonker... :-)
A good sing-song and a few beers at the game, sounds right up my road!

Where is the grog squad typcally located at the game?

Where is the grog squad typcally located at the game?

Punt Road end goals at the MCG.

Lloyd end goals (Southern Cross station end) at Etihad.

And they shout you beers all game for your first game... don't let them tell you otherwise KB

How many beers Krautbomber drink?

Beers during the game? Sounds like a good concept to me :-)

A bit far from the city and not going to help Kraut but Hogan’s in Wallan is an Essendon supporting pub

Humbert Humbert raised the point about setting up places where like-minded Bombers fans can meet up ("set up tables, chairs, bean bags, catering. You can make a bit of money off 1000 hungry, thirsty fans. We could also get a handful of suburban pubs to play along - eg the club sends them some red and black paraphenalia to spruce up the bar on match day and the bar provides a 20% discount to card-carrying members.")

My club has started a program called "VfB Stuttgart 'Fan Treffs'" (Fan Treff meaning 'meeting place of supporters', literally). No matter where the club plays, if it's shown on telly, VfB supporters can safely assume that any of the 'Fan Treffs' will be screening the match, no matter what other matches are on at the same time, the VfB match will always have priority (shown on big screen, etc.). This program is done in conjunction with on eof the big local beer breweries. Also, the Fan Treffs typically come with plenty of Stuttgart emorabilia, creating a nice and homely touch for any VfB fan. It's proved to be a real win-win: Supporters find plenty of home-from-homes and safe-heavens across the country to see their beloved team, and even on non-match-days, the VfB community can meet and discuss the latest going-ons at the club over a drink. The club thereby extended its reach in the community, nationwide, and the breweries don't mind the additional visibility and beer sales either. A few snippets on the program here:

Looks good krautbomber. Cutting out Percy's (Carlton) and the London (Richmond) we've got the following.

NORTH WEST MELBOURNE

Windy Hill - Brewster & Napier Street

The Sporting Globe - 690 Mt Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039

Tullamarine (The Café) -

SOUTH EAST MELBOURNE

Sports Bar on Punt Road – Pint on Punt - 42 Punt Rd, Windsor VIC 3181, Australia

Elsternwick Hotel (public bar at the back) - 259 Brighton Rd, Elwood VIC 3185

Precinct Hotel - 60 Swan St, Richmond VIC 3121

The Botanical - 169 Domain Rd, South Yarra VIC 3141

That covers the northwest and the southeast. Does anyone go to a pub to watch the games out East? North east? Western suburbs? It would be good to get a list of 'preferred' pubs/clubs so that like-minded, right-thinking supporters can congregate. Of course, this can also extend to interstate fans and rural fans - but perhaps they already know where to go? And international supporters ... I once spent a very satisfying morning with a few Bomber fans at a Walkabout bar in London watching us cream the Weagles.

The Despot ain't Essendon.

I go to the British Crown on Smith St, Collingwood for away games. The pub’s a bit ■■■■, but they have 3 buck pizzas!

There’s always a fair few dons supporters in attendance too

Below something that should help me in finding my way around and guiding me to the right places when down under, happy to share:

Interesting post on the EFC site today. Maybe they’re listening? Only two sites listed however, both in the northwest. KB’s map just above is a better bet.

If you can‘t make it to Punt Road tomorrow to watch the Bombers take on Richmond, there are plenty of Essendon venues to watch the game in style.

Be joined by fellow Bombers supporters at the Windy Hill Venue or at the new Bomber Café at the True Value Solar Centre. At both venues, the game against Richmond will be streamed live on a 50inch plasma from 1pm tomorrow. The game will not be broadcast on free to air or paid TV, so don‘t miss your chance to watch the old rivals do battle.

Ahead of the club‘s twilight Family Day event tomorrow night, make it a full Essendon day with plenty of lunch specials on offer at both venues.

Windy Hill Venue

All main meals are only $16.00.

For the full menu, please click here.

Bookings are essential, so please call 8371 0300.

Bomber Café at the True Value Solar Centre

The Bombers take on Richmond tomorrow at Punt Road in their final pre-season hit out before the 2014 home-and-away season. Tickets for tomorrow‘s clash are no longer available.

The Brickmakers Arms…oops sorry I thought I was back in the eighties for a moment there. I miss that pub :frowning:

Some of us used to live there, and still do.

It's actually reopened. I think it's a restaurant/bar now though.

My family visit this pub often - the 1985 Premiership photo in the bar is about 3m tall and about 5m wide - Hogans is great in winter with the fireplace etc.
If you are ever around Wallan contact me - well, not today (Germany 1 Chile 0) bastards :)
