Brad Scott - The Plan is Fine (Part 3)

The club seems to be only focussed on winning a final. So we’ll win a final, lose the next and then stay in the wilderness for another 20 years.

Or it could have the opposite effect they eventually have to break that curse

But your whole premise for not rebuilding, is that if we win a final…. we’ll go on to win a premiership.

No necessarily it will be a huge monkey off the back if they won a final that burden will be gone and they can finally move forward. such mental barrier for the club “20 years with out a finals win” they cant seem to get over

I personally find it infinitely more likely that the 1 recruiting GM with zero experience and a consistent record of ■■■■ picking was a bigger issue than multiple premiership players and coaches all being incompetent at developing players. High end picks failed with multiple coaching panels but we’ve not seen a non-dodo list since early 2000’s.

Wouldn’t shock me one bit if we see rapid improvement in drafting and talent identification with Dodo gone

RFK still there he was groomed by Dods

Exactly this.

And Their list is arguably worse than ours.

Monkey or no monkey. It’s doesn’t make an ounce of difference when the list is nowhere near good enough.

Just need to look at St. Kilda.

What I’m going to find fascinating this year if we finish bottom 4 and look like crap the calls to sack Brad from fans and members will be high. The test for the club will be not to buckle under that pressure and stay the course

What course are you talking about?

Sticking with the coach

If we finish bottom 4 - I’d actually appreciate Brad 0.5% more.

Some fans will accept it but reckon majority of the fan base wont

Majority of the “fan base” could barely name 5 players on the list.

Hird annouces he wants another crack at coaching Essendon

We need to either finish top 4 or bottom 4.

Pretty much spot on! Can’t keep doing this middle of table nonsense.

And we don’t have the list for Top 4, unless some insane progression happens miraculously, so it needs to be Bottom 4.

You mean Dodoro’s strike rate.

McGrath could easily be traded for a decent pick. And wouldn’t be that much of a loss and would go on to win finals with another club

You and I don’t agree on much in this thread but you are bang on here.
If we are ever to jump up and have a proper crack we need that high end talent.
In my opinion after the saga we should have let most of them go and hung around the bottom for a while would have had some players now coming into there primes
