Woosha was not bought in to coach. He was bought in to pat people on the back and ensure Essendon still had a team to hold the space and play footy until the banned players came back. He was never about creating a team it was a holding pattern.

Where was this opinion back when he was appointed??? AFAFICR I was the only person saying at the time saying this was the dumbest appointment EFC could make. Everyone else was applauding Little flying in his jet to sign up Worser.

I get the scepticism after the last 20 years … but if two bad quarters (vs Port) out of 28 for the year so far haven’t convinced you we are on the right path then I don’t know what will.

There was a time early days of rutten i was convinced we were on the right track

We have seen this kind of form/effort before. I think we’re as good as chance as we’ve been at turning it around but until it happens yeah…this isnt anywhere we havent been

I think the Eagles are playing much better footy now especially at home. A win is all that matters. 5 goals plus would be pleasing. It I’m not sure they’re the witches hats they were at the start of the season. Curbing Reid’s influence will be a challenge as his body type and speed at times is our kryptonite.

If the team has a healthy list and puts in efforts like that against the Pies we are a good chance to win a final against anyone.

What always troubles me is that our skills let us down so much and when we are a few goals up on the opposition we always seem to relax and then get belted when it really matters in the important games.

Win comfortably next week and I might start believing we have changed.

Reality is, we’ve been here before.

In 2012 we were 8-1 to start the year.
In 2013 we were 13-3 to start the year.
In 2014 we were 7th at Round 18.
In 2017 we won 6 of our last 8.
In 2018 we won 9 of the last 13.
In 2019 we made finals.
In 2021 we were 15th at Round 8, and made finals.
In 2023 we were 5th at Round 17 last year.

I don’t consider a finals win turning any corner. It’d be nice, but look at where St.Kilda and Freo currently sit. They have both won a final recently.

Bog average teams can win a final. Turning a corner for me is winning multiple finals in a year.

You mean like DeGoooey yesterday? I prefer instead to let the WEagles worry about how they are going to stop Durham, Caldwell, Perkins, Merrett, Parish and Stringer.
