Brad Scott - yeah, whatever (Part 3)

Or he is right and probably knows more about football then everyone on this site

Hodge doesn’t need to make a name for himself in the media. His playing reputation is all he needed to be guaranteed a gig for life if he wants it.

He is simply offering an opinion on how long true offield progress takes and observing that that progress will take time to bear fruit.

There’s nothing controversial in that

Gotta laugh at the thought that Hodge is saying we’re on the right track, to ruin the club.

I would have thought saying we look terrible, the coach is clueless and we need to start again would be more productive in creating instability, if he was truly ā€˜out to get the bombers’.

Hodge has had 2 experiences of stepping into a club that is a basket case, and see them turn it around.

I can’t stand him, but he tends to know what he’s talking about.

Then usually ends the sentence with ā€œI need a shower after defending Essendonā€

And it seems as though he gives a bit of effort. Keep picking those who try, dump the others who don’t and systematically upgrade the quality of those getting a game because they try. FFS how hard is it ?

That may be true, but he doesn’t know what is happening behind the scenes at Essendon.

What is happening?

I have no idea. But people are saying that Hodge says we are ok, so we must be. I’m saying Hodge has no idea what’s going on at Essendon because he’s not there, so how can he be so confident about us being ok?

I don’t want Scott sacked.

But why can’t he get the basics right

  • selection integrity.
  • and not playing Martin at half ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  back-

He wasn’t saying we are ok, but that it will take time.

  • Learn professionalism
  • took Fagan 2 years + Cameron+Hodge+Neale
  • what are you doing without the footy - Dons have flaws - coast to coast goals
  • A lot of players could be confused (have had lots of coaches and assistants), need to de program them, and then reprogram them
  • The biggest areas they have improved on are offield and standards.

We dominated last quarter but didn’t put suns away, need to get fitter and will make more of those opportunities late in games.

Do you want me to buy you a helmet @Duplicity? Just DM your address and head size and I’ll send you the best helmet money can buy.

123 Fake street - do they have XL because my head shape is kinda funny ?

But how would he know if we were on the right path.

Saying it will take time is true if you are on the right track in the first place.

I don’t care who is coach, I just want the coaches to raise expectations of the players, stop talking about improvement and then playing the same players, and playing players in their best positions.

Why do we keep finding ourselves in these positions against ā– ā– ā– ā–  opposition? Forget about the last quarter against GC and Adelaide, why couldn’t we put them away earlier?

Are Adelaide really ā– ā– ā– ā–  when they just did the doggies by 40 odd?

Feels like there should be a bit of nuance

They lost the following week to the Hawks by 66 points.

Yeah the Hawks are absolutely flying though, just clogged FC even worse lol

That’s my point, why is it at no point this year we have been absolutely flying?

Because we’re not the finished product with huge gaping holes in the list, a lack of standards and inconsistent strategy and players

All of which will take ages to remedy one by one

It looks likely Scott is bringing Weideman back. He said in his presser that they’d want a tall defender to come in for Cox, and Weideman has trained with the senior group.
