Brad Scott - yeah, whatever (Part 4)

Think you will find that a few big name assistants have been overlooked plenty:

  • Gia
  • Burns
  • Yze (before getting Tigers gig).

Thats off the top of my head

I am 100% behind him until I see him drop a kid after 1 bad game or until I see some boring chipping the ball sideways bullshit in an attempt to avoid a drubbing, which ends up as a drubbing anyhow.

Scott picked McKay didnt work out for 8 years at North and looking like his footy will continue too be a bust at Essendon

Defensively gone backwards at the club around the ground, yup keep on saying it because defence wins premierships, always has done always will do. If this doesn’t improve in 2026, irrelevant game outcomes he wont survive nor should he.

I’ve always said give him another year and this coming season is it for Brad, 0-4 start will almost certainly bring about his demise, especially if we have minimal injuries.

He’ll be 66 years old when he’s ooc in 2027 most likely end up retiring then coaching another club

Why would an 0-4 start bring his demise. if that happens its because we are a young rebuilding side wouldn’t shock me at all if we win less then 6 games

Exactly, even when we moved Martin to defence, the guy doesn’t have a defensive bone in his body. Same thing mass was criticised for, yet mass was outed. If we were gonna move Martin to defence after mass left, the coaches should have realised his defensive deficiencies. On the wing, Martin is superb but on a half back line his decision making is all over the place.

Wouldn’t be surprised again if Scott played favourites again next year regardless of form.

What favoriutes? A lot of them are no longer at the club.

Setterfield didn’t get picked when he was playing VFL

Age demographic young, experience wise 4th least experienced with Freo being less more experienced than us.

Sure we are young, this is a fact and should not be used, nor stated about improving this teams defence, its about improvement on 2025.

If we dont see the senior players playing to want to win a flag, or we cannot beat either Port or North Melbourne, ( marking Hawks and Dogs as straight up losses, would like to show competitiveness as a minimum ) there is the door.

Also Melbourne in round 5 we should win given their experience they have lost….0-5 its curtains Nino

Setterfield shouldn’t be on the list, he is because of another players injury.

Will end up getting a job at Tassie AFL will pay him ā– ā– ā– ā–  loads to move him there

I would say no if I was Fagan will end being sacked with in 2 years with us

No he won’t. We give even ā– ā– ā– ā–  coaches 5 years

Thats true in saying that will only take one of two 10 goal losses under Fagan for people to call for his sacking

Who is a really good coach ?

Serious question, as blokes like Fagan, McRae and Goodwin have won flags but was ity them or the Players on the list. Fagan seems to have the ability to get the Lions firing at the right time, but they do have a stellar list. McRae and Goodwin had one off years, so how good were they ?

I do not rate Scott, but I rate his coaching squad even less.

a lot has to go right and the stars align to be a premiership coach. the magic that happened at another club seems to be hard for a lot of coaches to find again ie clarkson, pagan, malthouse. If clarkson didnt have that success at hawks would we be judging his coaching at north as a success? Someone without his coaching record would no doubt have been sacked by now. Chris scott walked into a pretty sweetly setup club and culture.
