Break the swear filter - Review thread v Woofers

We let the Dogs play the spare man in the backline for far too long. Cut us apart. Disposal coming out of the backline was putrid in he 1st quarter. Surprised we didn’t get belted by 10 goals.

Was driving in the middle of Western Australia no radio and no internet, but beautiful landscape. Sounds like I didn’t miss a thing.

Port Adelaide, Collingwood, Melbourne, Hawthorn, Carlton, Geelong, GWS, Richmond are our next 8 games.

We will not win one of those games. Pencil it in.

The only light at the end of the tunnel is that we get the number 1 draft pick.

We, quite clearly, don’t have the players that are finals material, if you’re talking about winning finals. Winning hard balls, making good decisions under pressure in contests is what we’re rubbish at… and that’s everything in finals… not front running

Ah ■■■■.

For sure.

With the benefit of only 3 rounds exposed form, the win was very flukey indeed.

There is zero reason to be optimistic about the coming weeks:

  • Port next week will steamroll us

  • Pies on Anzac day, normal transmission will resume and we will get done. Elliot will come back and kick 5.

  • Melbourne are so far ahead of us its not funny. Oliver to provide the proverbial kick-in-the-nuts reminder

  • Tom Mitchell will set a new disposal record when we play the hawks with Cyril, Puopulo and Bruest playing their best games for the year

  • Carlton will beat us. Bookmark it. Curnow to kick 6 while Joe register 1.3 and 2 OOB

  • Cats will steamroll us. We might set a new record for frees against.

  • GWS will be an absolute demolition job at SPO. Devon will be in a dark dark place.

  • Richmond is going to be an absolute embarrassment. They’ll set a new record for time in forward half and repeat inside 50s

  • Brisbane at the G - we are no chance. None. At all. Hipwood to dominate and Rayner and Cameron to go berserk.

  • And 13 Bye.

It will be an outright miracle for us to be anything better than 1 - 11 at the bye.

You can’t even gain comfort in taking the pi$$ out of Richmond for the same thing, which I remember you loved doing!!

Usually when a team loses, one of two things is missing. Workrate or skills. Today the players took a leaf out of the little girl from the taco ad’s book and asked the question:

‘Porque no los dos?’

Fair dinkum, that was the most ‘Worker and Parasite’ performance I’ve seen in yonks.

Just watched the replay in between flights. Abysmal. Skills completely ■■■■ again, some bizarre errors all day.

Definitely want to blood some kids progressively but the performances from our supposed best players have been so far below their best it’s not even funny and really costing us(bar Heppell who has been superb this year).

Parish and McGrath were brilliant in round one but have been well and truly off the boil with their basic skills (handling, disposal) in the last two games.

Ultimately can see the pendulum swinging though and have us in the running for… yep, 7th-12th.

So are Geelong and they’ve got a star studded midfield

It’s even worse than that - we will beat Hawthorn and people will be saying “They’ve turned it around!” and raving about our forward line and hard working backline. The week after, once the players have been praised in the media, there will be an insipid display against Carlton and, similar to today, they will be chasing A all day, losing by about four goals to give Carlton their first win. And we start all over again in this Groundhog Day merry go round.

Bookmark this post, it’ll happen exactly like that.

I wrote that and thought, haha I’m just taking the ■■■■…

and then I realised I probably wasn’t.

Farking Essendon, I probably could’ve done something a bit more productive with the last 17 years…

Most things have been covered here but fark me we’ve got some dumb footballers in this team. We can’t execute the basics so don’t try the high skill level stuff.

Which club did we give our 2nd round draft pick to?

That club should be pretty happy right now.

They are playing exactly like us too. Only turn up for part of a match.

I was sitting on level 3 tonight in the GA area. The guys weren’t interested in chasing the ball, didn’t man up and just let the Dog’s play their game on their terms.

You could tell early on in the game they weren’t interested in working hard for the win. Too many passengers on our team, and WTF was with Daniher tonight that hand ball in front of the goal. ■■■.

I don’t usually get this ■■■■■■ off about a bad games but tonight annoyed me.

Jesus I have been banging on about this for the last 10 years. We just have a team of dumb footballers, see Joe Daniher in the last quarter.
