Break the swear filter - Review thread v Woofers

I’ll be honest, I don’t give anywhere near as much of a fark about it all anymore as I used to; too often we have players that don’t either.

Probably a good thing you weren’t in the rooms afterwards then.

I’d like to see us explore the possibilities of challenging the mental capacity of the playing group. I don’t think the coaches or anyone currently at the club has these capabilities, expertise or qualifications to do this.

I think we need to bring in a consultant agency who specialise in getting into the heads of the people and challenging the mental capacity of Performance. Football is not the issue. It never has been. It’s all about mental application.

You hear about other clubs exploring this side of performance. It’s time to bring in people with the qualifications to get the players out of their own heads, challenge them mentally, and improve the performances.

Asks more questions like wtf did we do during preseason?

Shoelaces do that, I reckon.

I haven’t been as peeved the day after a game since we lost to a hapless Melbourne in the rain at the MCG in 2012. Yet another game of the same tone, expected to win & coughed up a furball.

Club should consider less Connect4 and JENGA challenges and more “opposition has the football what would you do” type challenges.

As punishment this week they should bombard them with loudspeakers playing the Essendon club song for the whole week…

Surely not?

If defensive pressure is 90% mindset. Then we have some serious psychological issues.

We have seen the best sides over the last 15 years look like Terminators. They don’t let up with hunting the opposition, regardless of who they are.

The trouble for us guys who were around albeit very young early on, is that we have been around to see 6 Premierships, about 10 Grannies and quite a lot of success.
In the 70’s not so. But no matter what, we came out in those years, and the other side if they won at least came off very sore.
Watching that gutless rubbish yesterday, the only thing the Bulldogs would have been sore from was running us off our feet.
The only way to get through a message, that is being ignored by a bunch of these playing morons, is for some high profile people kicking off the dew in the Ressies.
It worked for Simon Madden who started on the bench against Fitzroy one time after Sheed’s let rip.
Later he won Norm Smith Medals, Flags and is on the Board. I suggest Daniher be dropped. Not kidding. He’ll get a message. And his 42 mates sure will too.
Can you imagine what is going the minds of Simon and the Board, the Staff, the volunteers, the past players, and the 1 million Supporter Nationwide that puts the girls out on the ground week in, week out after yesterday, given our History and Culture of Success?
A f**king disgrace to the Club, all involved behind the scenes, the old timers and the supporters.
FUMING. :rage::rage::rage:

I’m not going on Sunday, if the players can’t be bothered why should I waste my time?

Maybe when they walk out in front of a half empty crowd they’ll get the idea that effort is required to keep a big supporter base?! Especially since the saga, they’ve gotten too used to having cheering fans, packing the stadium, regardless of how ■■■■ they were playing.

Don’t want to harp on it, but the Instagram issue from last week (sun baking, winery tours) to me, highlights their mindset right now.

I know some people are saying they’re confused with the game plan, but how does that result in them missing targets for 20 metres away? Or for example, Bellchambers just jogging after his opponent whilst (he was absolutely pantsed by English yesterday). Laziness.

So we won centre clearances 17-8, but lost stoppage clearances 10-22.

Again.

We dominated the ruck and I dare say the first possessions and didn’t seem much in it for hard ball gets.

And we had a spare man at the contest ffs

Shame we don’t have a Womens Team 90% of these would get a game.

You know Richmond supporters are currently celebrating the fact they are reigning premiers? Maybe it’s time to ditch the “were becoming Richmond” or “its Melbourne-like”.

Quite frankly, I wish we were Richmond or (to a lesser extent) Melbourne.

It’s sad to see how much other teams have improved during the off season.

Right now, improvement wise, we’re probably comparable to Carlton/Collingwood.

Even Brisbane and GC have improved greatly.

Why do you think this is? Not enough players getting to stoppages?

I was amazed at how often we were unable to lock the ball in or get the ball to a teammate. Ball always seemed to come out to an opposition player who was standing away from the pack on the defensive side.
