Brisbane 2032

Perth moved their stadium from just under 3km from the CBD (two train stops) … to just under 3km from the CBD (two train stops). The sole highlight (because it’s set in a vast empty space) of the new area is a single sterile pub.

The Gabba has been rubbish to access (I think the current arrangement sets you to cross nine lanes of traffic from a busway station). But it will have a direct (access point their side of the road???) rail connection before 2032, and be more accessible than Vic Park.

Well the QLD LNP have just come out and said no new stadiums and no to the QSAC option

Which leaves … ummm … Carrara?

Well, no actually, because if they win the October election they are going to setup an “Independent Delivery Authority” which after 100 days will have to report back what the best option will be

And hey presto, the “Independent Delivery Authority” will say the same thing as Mr Quirk did a new stadium is required because the Gabba is falling down

Premier Crisafuli says “We’ve taken the advice of the “Independent Delivery Authority” clearly the best and only option is a new stadium at Victoria Park. Even though I may not like it personally, the Independent experts know best and this will be the best option in the long-run and the money we save can be used to build new hospitals and new schools instead of trying to patchup an aging Gabba”

All the while Premier Crisafuli knows that he doesn’t have to face the suckers voters again until October 2028

Jeebus. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse.

Tom Doedee has done his ACL again in the last few moments of training on Tuesday. Was due to make his comeback this week.

Shocking news for him, 3rd ACL.

The Brisbane 2032 stadium shitshow continues with the Brisbane 2032 CEO calling for a new stadium

It was. Just looked it up out of interest and The Winner Is Sydney was said at 4:17am 24 September 1993. The Grand Final was on 25 September.

So I wonder if it was always planned to have it painted on?

Also, I’m certain there was a similar piece of paintwork on the ground in a Grand Final for Melbourne’s 96 Olympics bid. Maybe 89 GF?
