Leuenberger’s management yesterday confirmed to The Australian that apart from the Swans, he will also be dealing with Essendon and Fremantle.

Both he and Bellchambers are good enough to be first ruck. Unfortunately, neither are good enough to play the forward/ruck role. This probably leaves one of the two languishing in the reserves which would obviously be a waste.

As stated, he was good a couple of years ago, now he is not so good. Don’t see the point.

Injury prone and not nearly as good as people believe him to be. The tom bellchambers of 2015 smashed him when we played.

If we get another ruckman, they’d need to be either :

  • a dead set gun, who’d easily push Bellchambers out.

  • A younger guy who has shown some talent, who we can develop over a year or two.

  • A long term rookie project.

Loony is none of these.

Agree. Just doesn’t make sense.
We need to re-set this year. Get past WADA, draft kids, have a settled environment including new coaches and with room in the cap go after a need next year.
