What's the bet the bloke doesn't see out half his contract and ends up OD somewhere? 9 years is a long time. Hope they have the contract conditioned to reach certain KPI's.
OD? On what, hot women?
yes, ermm hot women..
What's he gonna OD on then? It's not the 90's, he's not shooting smack. Yeah sure, you can OD on coke, but you have to be going very, very hard. Certainly harder than even Buddy has time for.
The Swans media department must be pretty ■■■■■■ good. The day after the incident all you get is a flood of media about Buddy taking a ‘team first attitude’.
Has Buddy ever actually been in trouble for off field behaviour? Has he been reprimanded or suspended by his club?
He might have, I can only remember that weird incident years ago with Jack Anthony. And once we all found out who jack Anthony was, it came across as a positive Buddy story.

I'm with you. People are just looking to cut Buddy down. He likes pretty girls and going out and having a good time. Let's string him up!

Having a love of women can only be bonus. Less time for drinking and other activities that cause trouble.
And anyway didn't Buddy have a different girl every day of 2008 ?

Yeah, it's not like the AFL have ever kept something under the carpet to protect its image, EVER!

Yeah, it's not like the AFL have ever kept something under the carpet to protect its image, EVER!
And it's not like a high profile footballer has ever been the subject of a BS rumour.
Did anyone seriously expect him to be playing in 9 years? That's just a salary-cap fiddle, and when his days are done, Sydney will continue to pay him a million per, and seek relief from the AFL because they're a man short and a mil short in their payments, particularly if COLA gets abolished.

THE Sydney Swans‘ $10-million man and star recruit Lance “Buddy†Franklin was rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected seizure, just two months out from the start of the AFL season.
Paramedics were called to Franklin‘s Bondi Beach apartment on January 3, after the 27-year-old footballer collapsed.
The manager to his girlfriend Jesinta Campbell declined to comment on whether she made the frantic call to Triple-0 at about 3pm.
The club confirmed the star forward was admitted to hospital in early January “as a precaution†and missed a training session, but said it would have no “ongoing impact on his football.â€

In a statement issued last night, the club said a doctor at the hospital confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the medical scare.
BUDDY‘S PUTRID BLOWOUT
NSW Ambulance Service went to Franklin‘s apartment at about 3pm on the Friday afternoon after receiving a call to assist a “male in his 20s†who had collapsed.
“The male person was taken to St Vincent‘s Hospital in a stable condition,†a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said.
It is understood Franklin was assessed in the hospital‘s emergency department, but discharged himself later that night.
The hospital yesterday declined to comment, citing patient confidentiality.
Franklin was signed to the Sydney Swans in a nine-year, $10 million contract at the end of 2013 after playing 182 games for Hawthorn.
A spokesman for the club told The Daily Telegraph the “private medical matter†would have no impact on Franklin‘s playing future.
“Franklin informed the Club and Club doctor immediately,†the spokesman said.

Swans‘ fans are hopeful Franklin will help their side deliver a fourth premiership in 2014.
He played his first match of the year in Blacktown on Thursday night, where the Swans went down to the West Coast Eagles 10.12 (72) to 5.7 (37).
He will play again in Brisbane next week and is expected to play round one against GWS.
Franklin suffered a health scare in 2012 when he fell ill with dizzy spells and nausea, prompting Collingwood midfielder Sharrod Wellingham to alert Hawthorn officials.
Franklin and Campbell, who have quickly become one of Sydney‘s “it couples†since they began dating mid-last year, rang in the new year together, posting photographs of themselves on social media celebrating with friends.
“Celebrating an amazing year with my favourites,†Campbell posted on New Year‘s Eve.
The day before Franklin‘s collapse, the pair posted photos having lunch at the trendy new beachside eatery North Bondi Fish.
