Most remembered as the murderous mercenary android in Bladeruner, and in Blind Fury, but also check him out in Soldier of Orange, by Paul Verhooven.

Did his best work in Hobo with a Shotgun

I’d give it 3 Rutgers and 1/2 a Dolph

Don’t forget Salute of the Jugger. Classic.

Or as the bounty hunter chasing Gene Simmons’ terrorist in Wanted Dead Or Alive.

Wedlock was a terrible movie that they seemed to make a lot of around that time.

First caught Rutger in a film called the Hitcher.

I remember it scaring the bejeezez out of me at the time.

(May or may not have been partaking of mind altering substances …)

Worst Buffy “big bad” ever.

What’s that off - a mate used to say that all the time. Unless you’re him.

Another face that not many could put a name to, has also passed on.

Was that the one where he tied the bloke between the truck and the girlfriends car and tricked her into driving off with hilarious consequences

How the freeg could I forget that. My avatar would be ashamed

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.

Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.”

God only knows what it means. Where is the shoulder of Orion? What’s a C-beam?

But who cares? One of the great speeches, in one of the great scenes, in movie history.

I guess it was Rutger Hauer’s time to die.

R.I.P.
