Andrea Camilleri of Inspector Montalbano fame.

Former Australian Davis Cup tennis star and two-time Wimbledon doubles champion Peter McNamara has died from cancer, aged 64.

Very sad - fond memories of watching him play. The two Macs were a wonderful doubles team - their Wimbledon wins are firmly planted in my memory.

They were ace.

64 isn’t old. Do we know the cause?

Prostate cancer.
Apparently very few people knew he had it and close friends even had no idea. He was still playing exhibition matches

What a shame. He was some player. The Two Macs were a great team.

Maybe a prawn cocktail and some mushroom and chicken vol-au-vents too, with the Skyhooks playing in the background.

Followed by a pineapple upside down cake.

(Golden circle tinned pineapple rings)

If you were in the UK, would you just call this a pineapple cake?

Or, if you were a pineapple, would you call it “the cake of death”?

Outstanding.
This place needs more dark absurdism.

Back in medieval times would’ve been the rich man’s cake.

His portrayal of replicant Roy Batty in Blade Runner was brilliant. Perfectly cast.

Her niece was a teacher at my High School … she was a feral who didn’t shave, shower or believe in deodorant … no idea why I still remember that 30 years later :open_mouth:

Who doesn’t remember their first love?
