I did hear that it relates to the bbc. As the copyright holder, they havenât given permission. I have the box set of all Goodies episodes and I remember being told that it was a miracle that the bbc agreed to allow the box sets.
You are either so very old, or in your pram ?
The two I think of first with Tim in particular is his singing Donât cry for me Marge & Tina while running for Prime Minister and Iâm a teapot when they get concreted in.
Poor little Gilbert the mouse / gerbil / hamster?
l was 4. The only memory l have of the event is a single image of Moss in the glorious red 300S racing down the back straight. It was one of the most beautiful cars of that era. We were set up on the golf course near the bend at the end of the back straight (city end, in those days).
And yes, l am that old.
A nice tribute to Stirling Moss can be found hereâŚ

Truely saddened from the passing of TBT, Goodies were my staple, even have a goodies T Shirt. They were my show growing up, I have a boxed DVD set. I still love them, man so many favourite episodes, Ecky Thump ( was this what the White Stripes song was about always wondered)
Radio Goodies, the pirate radio station, with a little row boat and a ladder that went to the big station underneath, and now for a âwalk in the Black Forest â
Buried inside, when they are concreted in⌠101 today 101 today
All Goodies eps Box Set available at your favourite Capân Jack Sparrow type site/Bay.
You would have been in the last National Service call-up; did your marble come up ?
I was the next year and Gough intervened !!!
I was in the second last draft, my birthday is in June. My marble did come up, but it didnât matter as l had not registered, l was a draft resistor.
Tim Brooke Taylor
I little part of my youth just slid away.
Sad to see Timâs passing, loved the show as a kid i must have watched every show at least 3 times.
I have to ask, why is The Goodies not available on any streaming service? Where can i find episodes, his passing has just made me want to watch episodes and i canât find them anywhere
I just downloaded some the other day by weird coincidence.
Pm me and I can send you them somehow hopefully.
My draft was the last one and I did not register, but as I said Gough intervened. Were you arrested or did gough also intervene before they could get you ?
I had a number of friends who refused to register so they were forced into National Service or put into Pentridge. They suffered less in Pentridge than the ones at Pucka did, and being in Pentridge was very tough.
In fact, other friends who were called up and served in Vietnam never got over it. Sad part of our history which I hope is never repeated.
Watching the Goodies now is a terrible idea. Hilarious in my youth. Stupid and kitsch now. Rewatched The Young Ones recently which was my favourite show as a kid, aged horribly.
Wash your mouth out
Iâm with you on The Goodies.

I was in the last call-up too, (birthday in October), but my birthday didnât come up.
And also, I know people who served in Vietnam and handled it well, and others who never got over it.

Never arrested, not even a whiff. I would have gone to Pentridge if necessary, but l knew Gough was coming in and the draft was on the way out. l would not have gone to Vietnam to fight a phony US war. l reasoned that Vietnam was never a threat to invade Australia, therefore we hd no right to invade them. l have since been to Vietnam 7 times and have some local friends there, l am convinced l made the right choice.
Who?
Edit: nevermind.
Seems like a pretty significant chap.
Vale.
