I thought that tall bloke we had on our rookie list that went to Adelaide years ago had retired/got axed.

I worked on the original Snowy River. The producers had a watertight contract with Douglas and he was paid accordingly. However the film proved way ,way more popular than Douglas anticipated and he subsequently attempted to sue the producers for more money. Needless to say he was not successful.
Nevertheless I dont think he was prepared to do Snowy River 2 for the same money.
The producers of the second film were in part different people from the first production.

Dad of a guy at our cricket club was an extra on Snowy River. Looked exactly like youâd imagine a mountain bushman to look likeâŚbig bushy beard, wiry etc. Surname Beamish.
