Christo has wrapped up his life
Christo has died?
Yep
That’s a wrap
RIP Joey Image, drummer of the Misfits
RIP Steve Priest, bass player with 70s UK glam rock band Sweet. Those of us of a certain vintage will remember his intro on ‘Ballroom Blitz’: “Are you ready, Steve?” “Uh huh.”
This leaves guitarist Andy Scott as the only surviving member.
Bugger.
"The Sweet" btw.
Sweet put out some of the best singles of the 70s. One of the reviews said ‘Show me a record with more pop sensibility than The Ballroom Blitz and I’ll show you a goldmine.’ Stevie was a funny bloke and a ripping singer. RIP.
Desolation Boulevard was one of the first LP’s I ever bought.
Still worth a listen every now and then, … and I reckon this Eve may be one of the thens.
This was my first album, aged 12.
Yeah, I bought that Album too on the strength of that song. Had a great cover of a Stylus in a record groove.
I bought DB of course, because of this one.
Yeah, they knocked out more than a few hits. Fox was a goodun.
The Sweet Mix was a legitimate all on the floor track at the Blue Light.
The bloke in the purple satine jumpsuit is striking quite a provocative pose.
That’d be Steve Priest- also known for wearing hot pants on one TV performance and because that wasn’t outrageous enough going on as gay Hitler on the next edition of Top of the Pops. Ah, the 70s…
I only bought one Sweet album. Sweet ■■■■■ Adams. Should have bought more.
Still remember Steve Priest being asked by some american tool if he was hoping they would become successful by hitting the american tv, and him responding that if it all fell apart and they disbanded tomorrow he would be ok with them being remembered as just another 38 hit wonder!
Still rate Andy Scott as one of the great pop rock guitarists.
Gay Hitler? Love it.
