l bought the single for The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, it had a picture sleeve, although at this stage l canāt recall what was on it. He was one of the great movie composers.

Ennio Morricone is a dead set legend of the game and I am aware he is well known, but itās a crime he isnāt, by popular opinion, considered right up there with the Gods like Zimmer and Williams.
His soundtrack for once upon a time in America is quite possibly my favourite movie soundtrack of all time. It is as iconic and memorable as some other soundtracks? Probably not. But that soundtrack absolutely captures and enhances the themes of the movie to an extent that I donāt reckon any soundtrack has been able to since.

When I went on Sale Of The Century, Pete was there doing the voice overs plus entertaining the audience during breaks, and he came across as a genuinely nice and funny bloke.
They had us film a station promo with Pete sneaking up behind us contestants with an inflatable baseball bat and, just as he was about to strike, the three of us pulled out our own bats from under the desk and belted the crap out of him. I donāt know if it ever made it to air.
