He had a really good voice.
The olâ bag would drive us mental by playing Trini Lopez, Neil Sedaka and Charlie Pride tapes whilst driving us around in her Hillman Hunter when we were young. Naturally, I grew a burning hatred for those performers and for piece of sh*t English constructed vehicles. Trini, you canât hear this but if we ever crossed paths whist you were still with us, I was going to fight you.
Pete Way, bass player from UFO passed away overnight. Very influential for many metal bands that emerged in the 80s. Steve Harris from Iron Maiden credits him as a huge influence. Third member of the band to have died in the last year. All in their 60s.
Yowzers!!
You thinking what Iâm thinking??
Made the deal at the Crossroads, ⌠and itâs collection time?
Haha, maybe. Or their reputation for partying extremely hard caught up with them. This guy and Paul Chapman, who died a couple of months ago, were with Bon Scott on his last night. They were big time part buddies. It all catches up in the end
Linda Manz died.
Who is the âolâ bagâ to whom you so disrespectfully refer? By the way did you realise at the time that Neil Sedaka was a dude? Rather amazing feminine tones to his voice. Quite like him, actually.
I want to fight Neil Sedaka.
Oh poor Diggers, I donât know what to say.
And the âol bagâ wasâŚoh nooooooo
Itâs a term of endearment.
If I had a hammerâŚ
We could discuss that all day.
Chetan Chauhan who opened Indiaâs batting with Sunil Gavaskar and later served 2 terms in Indiaâs parliamentâŚfrom Covid aged 73.
Shame to hear his innings never recovid
I remember him pretty well. At a time when you wouldnât look forward to an Indian tour, he was one of their better performers. And fair play to him for opening the innings on fast Australian wickets against the likes of D Lillee, R Hogg and J Thompson. Indians werenât accustomed to that sort of fast bowling. He went alright.

I donât know why but Iâve been really affected by Linda Manzâ death. When these things happen Iâm sure that like me, you go down the YouTube rabbit-hole to relflect on the artistâs work but Iâd forgotten how amazing she was. She only did 10 movies and a handful of television roles but in every scene you canât take your eyes off her. He face and voice were perfect. When starring as the 4" 7â âPeeweeâ in The Wanderers next to 6" 6â âTerrorâ of The Fordham Baldies and surrounded by other gang members, sheâs the star and she was only 17 at the time. Her narration of âDays of Heavenâ was as unusual as it was amazing and credit to the director for using her in that way but her performance in Out of the Blue with Dennis Hopper was her finest without doubt and should have seen her go onto bigger and better things in the 1980âs and beyond. But she didnât. She did hardly any interviews, tv or print and the stuff out there doesnât really indicate why she didnât go on with it. And now sheâs gone at 58.
