Celebrity Deaths 2022

  1. we don’t know the cause of death.
  2. you linked it to the vaccine specifically.

We’re not running these theories.

Wow.

There are some really hypersensitive people on this forum, specifically the moderators group it seems when it comes to comments about the vaccine lol

Or we won’t don’t want this to devolve into one of those arguments.

Probably both.

There is a whole covid politics etc thread for that type of discussion, not here.

That’s a fair call.

Initial shock factor of a post removed on what I thought was fairly harmless had me rattled though.

I apologise for speculating about cause as well; I should not have done that.

That is the epitome of an opinion.

I don’t know what your post was, but don’t fall back on platitudes to defend good or bad, or rather, subjective, positions.

Why are you even bothering to chime in with a nothing statement when you don’t even know what I posted?
Any wonder I’m over blitz.

Anyway back to the matter at hand.

Seen them twice and 2005 experience was nuts. I link a lot of crazy times in life to their songs and I remember one by one with two or three good mates all arm in arm as one of the better ones.

No spinal tap gags please, however they made it to 11 many a time with him in the drivers seat.

RIP, horns up.

I stated I don’t know what you said.

But I commented on what you did say, which was ‘we aren’t on Earth to please people’, which is the epitome of a circular opinion. ‘I can say whatever I want because it’s my opinion’. Who knows what we’re on Earth for.

I’d like to know what you said, as I might completely agree with you, or not - but your defence is paper thin. You have a responsibility for what you say as much as what you do.

I really wasn’t having a go at you and you’re right, I probably should have shut up not having known what you said. But I was responding to what I could see.

Sorry for jumping in the middle of a conversation I wasn’t really involved with - which I know is something that happens on the forums like this that is too common, and counterproductive.
Indeed, such cross purposes and misunderstandings probably account for 75% of the rants - but I don’t want to continue this one which I’ll take responsibility for.

Shattered. One of my biggest influences on the drums.

And such a great entertainer. I was lucky to see them live a couple of times.

As if the day couldn’t get any worse I find out that Taylor Hawkins from Foofigters has died

Only 50 man this is shocking rip Taylor Hawkins

I’m guessing Foofighters will be canceling their Aussie tour

I have a lot of conflicting feelings about it right now.

A huge part of this band’s attraction for me is Hawkins. The thought of seeing the Foos without him, even though Grohl is still there, just feels pretty farking empty. I don’t think it would bother me in the slightest if they called it quits.

Thankfuly i got to see them a few years ago at Rod Laver

I can’t imagine what must be going through Dave’s head right now.

First loosing Kurt and now Taylor

2 best mates gone he’ll be hurting bad right now Dave

Dave has to be asking himself how the hell lightning struck him twice.

Have to admit it. I was a big fan of the first Foo Fighters album. That was all Dave, of course. When they’d put a couple more albums together I still thought Dave was playing drums on the records. Nope. It was this effervescent guy he’d found who sounded a lot like him. Saw them a few times early days. Doesn’t make any sense he’s gone. The Foos are good guys. They’re the leaders of the old guard rockers. Taylor was a really great drummer and always seemed like a good bloke. It’s sad times.

As much as those blokes are all healthy these days in the rock context it’s a rough industry on the body. This is left of field though. Hawkins always looked like someone who looked after himself.

I certainly feel physically exhausted after gigs but it is generally things like back pain, leg cramps, sore fingers… sure it can be tiring, but when you play for 2-3 hours you learn to ramp up so you can peak in the middle-late parts of it. When I was playing four sets a night, I had to learn how to do that and eventually I got to a point where I felt really good until maybe about halfway through the last set.

But I also got breaks. And obviously playing locally is another thing. I have no concept of touring, especially international touring. I’d think that that more than anything would really put someone through the wringer. Travel, jet-lag, time changes, questionable food choices… years of that can’t be good on anyone. Plus, on top of that, any vices. I know Grohl still smokes because he had a drag on one playing drums in the video going around of Taylor singing Queen.
