Loathed Grease and didn’t like much of her material, but she had a lovely, plaintive voice and an appealing girl next door quality. Always came across as a good person… too regularly for it to be merely a front.
RIP…
I doubt we will hear another voice like Judith’s. Just angelic, well almost.
Grease was iconic, wasn’t a huge fan myself, but respect that it was very big at the time.
with 2 sisters though they played it a lot.
I think we should talk less about Grease and her voice. Yes both were great, and both will live on.
But her real legacy is the centre named after her (and funded by her) at the Austin Hospital. That’s her real legacy and it will continue to provide holistic wellness services to cancer patients for decades to come.
I also heard this morning that she herself sought treatment at that centre in secret a few years ago. Fancy seeking treatment at a hospital centre that you funded and has your name on the front.
I also think her death, while sad for cancer patients, is actually a story of hope. She got diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in 1992. She’s managed to live another 30 years post then which is a great success story when you think about it. It should give comfort to cancer patients that even if you get a bad diagnosis, it is possible for you to live on for many decades and live a full life.
I say we can talk about whatever we like.
I’m sorry it wasn’t intended as a criticism of you or anyone, of course not, just a comment on her legacy
Tell me more, tell me more
Grease was loads of fun, classic tunes, played heaps in my house.
RIP Olivia, wonderful Aussie legend
i had the Grease soundtrack and the Xanadu soundtrack. Knew them back to front. Adored her voice, and there may have been a few occasions when i copied her muse ribbons in the hair look
She also won Eurovision representing the UK in ‘74. We’re so far removed from her heyday that it’s impossible to fully appreciate how hard working, determined, fearless and supremely talented she was.
She was also an animal rights and environmental activist.
She didn’t win it she came 4th, which is still very good, Waterloo/ABBA won it in 74.
You really shouldn’t speak ill of the deceased.
She is best known for being in that movie that taught girls that if you want a guy to like you that you need to change your appearance and behaviour
Didn’t Danny also change for Sandy?
What about egg?
He is starting to grow on me.
Ahh so you prefer nataliedons over the original poster?
