Dr Feelgood guitarist. RIP.
Ah hell - he was great gas, Wilko !
Yes, short stint with the Blockheads too
Also a part in GOT
Motley Crue hasn’t aged well
Is he the one they call Dr. Feelgood? Was he the one who made you feel alright?
Hes probably not feeling too good at the moment. He probably feels nothing at all.
I recall from an article when he was diagnosed in 2013 in which he said that counterintuitively, he had never felt more alive than at the moment he was told he was going to die.
I always remember an interview he did which tickled me… something along the lines of…
Interviewer: So tell us about your guitar playing.
Wilko: I turn the amp on, I plug in and off I go
Interviewer: What about your pedals?
Wilko: I’m a guitar player, not a farking cyclist…
Reading her obits over the weekend i was intrigued by two things:
Other than a handful of those retro type shows she’d mostly abandoned her solo career. She mainly worked latterly as a back-up singer… At one point she was one of Lou Reed’s back-up singers.
She was reluctant to work with Giorgio Moroder because of the comparisons it would draw to Donna Summer. Because of this reluctance she was demurring until the very last minute, which resulted in her having to having to hastily come up with the lyrics for “What A Feeling” in the cab on the way to the studio to record it.
Dr James Wright
Was he on Midday/Ray Martin/Mike Walsh?
He seemed nice.
Was that the guy who used to do those PBS ads? We used to make fun of him because he always said “prescription” like Elmer Fudd. “Peskwipshun”.
Just saw the news, enjoyed his work.RIP
Wow. Was only a few years ago was at their concert.
