Well I have a copy of “The Spirit of St. Louis” Strummer/Jones wrote 6 of the 12 songs, that would be enough on it’s own for me to buy it.
If Strummer/Jones recorded the breakfast order i would have bought it though.

A mate of mine joined the army a long time ago now, and had to go through basic training.
He told me that their sergeant (or whatever it is, I’m not a doctor) gave basically the following address to them.
‘I have been informed that there are certain words that I am not allowed to call any of you anymore. This has made me very angry because they are some of my favourite words and they definitely apply to every last one of you.
Therefore I have take it upon myself to invent a new word. This word does not exist in the English language and has no meaning and no other connotations.
You! Do you object to being called a plenker?’
‘No, Sergeant!’
‘Are your sensitivities offended by me calling you a plenker?’
‘No, Sergeant.’
‘You absolute plenker.’
Rodney yew plenker
I have been watching the latest season of Ozark on Netflix and I noticed that they dropped the C bomb a few times, but they only called females by it. It was the same in the Sopranos, i.e. both US shows.
Whereas, in Australia, I have only ever heard males being called a C word. Funny, isn’t it?
PS: How did we get onto this in the celebrity deaths thread??
My wife can’t stand the C bomb but my son drops it quite often. We had a friend from Connecticut Stay with us a few years back and she found it really bizarre that we use it to describe men. She reckons the C bomb is only used to describe women back home
Calling someone a C can be a term of endearment
You either live locally or in Tassie where he went next, or maybe related ??
He was a one-eyed Hawks supporter so he was easy to dislike.
Didn’t like him much at first but he was a supremely talented CEO and was very supportive to new councillors. I was glad to see him depart, but even though I really liked his replacement, Robert was a much superior leader had great skills in getting the best deals from Government and could get me meetings with Federal and State Leaders without fuss. He was not popular with all staff or residents but unlike nearly every CEO I know, he lived in the community and worked hard for the local people. He could also drink anyone I know under the table.
As in, “You lucky C”. (As per, “You lucky bastard”)
Or “what a sick c” or “that c is a legend” or simply “thissss c!”.
All terms of endearment.
Yeah bit of both.
He was FIFO down here so he wasn’t popular in that regard. No one seemed to like him much, but tbh I never met him and wasn’t even working there when they hired him.
He was pretty wham bam, so you knew he’d been here. Things are going pretty good down here in a local sense so maybe he did something good, but I’m still hard pressed to find anyone that liked him.
But typically not if you call a woman one
That’s only a negative
That is true
There’s a Youtube with Ricky Gervais saying it’s the best thing he’s ever seen. Every drop of the C-bomb in After Life…including plenty by women.
FIFO ! That surprises me; I knew he kept his house in Darley but I thought he had moved permanently to Launceston. He worked in Local Government so long that he would have a truckload of superannuation, and he now lives down the coast in Ocean Grove running his own consulting business. Very smooth operator and at times was a deadset c*nt. If you worked for him and he didn’t like you, then life was tough especially if you were female. He could also fight; we were drinking in Brisbane after a LG conference one night and some big yobboes from a FNQ council had a go at him, and he cleaned two of them up before it was stopped. As I recall, it was over which rum was better, Bundy or Beenleigh !! Blokes are so farking stupid; I was drinking XXXX !!
I wouldn’t be hard to find someone to confirm it, but it had a bit of teeth that FIFO rumour. And I definitely heard he had a chauvinist thing going on.
His predecessor is a humble EHO. We’re lovers not fighters but tbh honest I’m not terribly good at that either.
Well my record with women depends on who you ask and when. My Dad taught me to fight and then signed me up to the local running club, once he saw my skills, pain threshold and courage.
What’s French for avant-garde
Derelicte
^^ This made me laugh out loud ^^
Nice work @dambuster…
