Ray Stevenson passed away at 58. Has a key role in the new Star Wars Ashoka series.
Oh I missed this. I read a lot of Amis’ books back in the 90s.
I read The Rachel Papers and London Fields but I read a lot more from his old man, Kingsley.

Why do so many actors just look like iterations of Alec Baldwin?
He was very good in the HBO Rome show. Fairly young age to be gone.

I was a huge fan of Kingsley Amis’ early novels; Lucky Jim remains one of my favourite books. The Rachel Papers I also enjoyed, but I didn’t like much else that Martin wrote. He always seemed a bit too clever by half, as the Poms say. But it’s sad that he’s dead so young.
He had a part as a young boy in quite a good film called A High Wind in Jamaica, made in 1965.
