Hi father basically drank himself to death. He wasn’t a very pleasant person, and became less pleasant as he got older. One of his last novels, You Can’t Do Both, was strongly autobiographical and showed that at least in some respects he had insight into his faults. His early novels were by far his best, up to and including One Fat Englishman.

I was lucky enough to see her live in concert in the late eighties at the now defunct Perth Entertainment Centre. What an amazing performer she was. So much charisma. Legend!

I saw her in Melbourne in the late 80s. She was amazing. With her strong voice and the energy of her dance moves, she was ‘simply the best’. RIP Tina
