Changes for annual Dreamtime bloodbath

Tippas fitness level is no worse than Francis is. So why not give him a go

We’ll never be a good club if we do sh*t like that.
Stringer should be brought back thru the rezzies as well.

Caracella out, he can manage the changing of the dunny rolls or something.

Caldwell/McGrath/Perko/Shiel/Hobbs centre setup.
Zerrett in off a wing.

Parish full time fwd.

You know it makes sense.

Who gives a f*** if Walla isn’t ready? Half the bloody team aren’t “ready”. We won’t lose the match by playing him, and that’s for sure. We’ll lose it if we don’t play him, anyway. So put him in, give him the honour of playing in the Indigenous round.

In: Wanganeen, Eyre, McBride, Walla (half fit is better than half the blokes in our team) Hird, Phillips.
Out: Heppell, Bryan, Caldwell (inj) Cutler, Shiel, Francis.

The cupboard is bare

Out Caldwell injured,
In waterman

If there was any dignity left in the playing group they would lead the tackle count at the end of Q1.

I’d go…
Out - Bryan, Francis
In - Waterman, Jones

Jones is risky, but I don’t see him doing much at VFL level. May as well gain fitness at AFL level if he’s fit enough. Otherwise bring in Wanganeen.

I’d hope to drop Shiel but we know that isn’t happening.

At some point start rewarding whoever has the most tackles in VFL. That’s been Hird. McBride had a lot last time around. If he backs it up give him a game sometime.

Durham, Frang, 0 tackles (in the front half) = nup.

Parish, middle all game for 1 tackle = nup, back to the HFF. Caldwell middle.
Shiel needs to be set somewhere that’s not the middle. Wing for me, McGrath middle where he should be.

Really, tackling needs to be the bottom line.
And the top line.
And most of the lines in between. Simplify the zone setup a bit.

And the difference between seeing tippa tanked by quarter time and Francis is???

Bring BJ outta retirement to smash some sort of snack before the game off the table, headbutt cutler so he’s subbed off before the game starts, then storm out

…we’d be playing with 2 down, but when cutler plays we’re playing like we’re 2 down anyway so it’ll even out

We need a genuine forward crumber who can put pressure to keep the ball in our forward 50.

I reckon a message needs to be sent to our midfield: run both ways, tackle and above all, COMPETE!!

A back 6 that can compete one on one.

….we’re gonna get smashed. Not even gonna watch it.

We’ve given Bryan a taste but Nankervis will eat him for breakfast so I’d be inclined to bring in Phillips. Wanga really our only small forward option with Smith out. Not sure Caldwell plays, and Francis was awful so Waterman and/or Cox probably come in…I’d have;-

OUT: Francis, Caldwell, Cutler (SUB), Bryan
IN: Cox, Waterman, Wanga, Phillips

Team;-

Laverde Reid Kelly
Redman Ridley Hind
Durham Hobbs Merrett
Martin Cox Guelfi
Waterman 2MP Wanga

Draper Parish McGrath

Bench: Shiel Perkins Heppell Phillips
SUB: Cutler

Out: watching us

Really don’t know what we are going to do to limit the damage this week; however, here’s my best thoughts:
Kelly (must play on Martin) Laverde, Reid
Ridley (free him up to play his old game), BZT, Redman
Hind, Merrett, Martin
Perkins, Draper (add some fire to a passive forward line), Guelfi
Baldwin, Wright, Wanganeen
Phillips, McGrath, Parish
Cutler, Hird, Hobbs, Heppell
Durham
In: BZT, Baldwin, Wanganeen, Phillips, Hird
Out: Caldwell (Inj), Shiel, Bryan, Francis, Durham (/Waterman)
