Changes for ANZAC Day vs Pies

For reference Crowe said it in the Injury Update during the week. Looking forward to seeing Mason hopefully get a few games together.

Now that’s an interesting idea !

That’s his second game for the club. He was good round 1

No idea what changes are needed.

Just, for the love of God, do whatever is needed to beat these carnts on ANZAC day. No more getting blown away in the first quarter and spending the rest of the game trying to get back into it bullshite. No more tip rats running riot unattended in the goal square. No more no-name spud playing their only good game of their career. No more out if their ■■■■ goals.

Just farking win the game.

Amen to that! Sick of hearing anzac day should be taken off us - should shut the haters up for at least a year.

McGrath said he played on him for 20 minutes. He did do well on him in a few one on one contests but it also corresponded to the quarter we played well , had more of the ball and actually tackled/pressured through the midfield.
So while l was impressed with his work it was hardly the extended shutdown role people on here are saying. And doing it for 20 minutes is a lot different than keeping him quiet for 4 quarters.

Let’s not tip toe around the issues, Stanton is cooked, Jobe is pretty close to cooked as well, it’s sad but they are not going to get a fairytale finish. It’s modern day football, quick ball movement and then quick pressure on the ball carrier when not in possession, it’s just gone past them. Add in Kelly, Bags, Hocking (last week) Myers (when he returns), Heppell, Goddard, and we are just too ■■■■■■ slow.

Tippa, Raz, McGrath, Colyer need to start spending more time rotating thru the middle, otherwise it’s going to be another long, frustrating winter.

And for ■■■■■ sake put Hooker back where he belongs, as a forward, he makes Harry Taylor look good.

Id honestly sign a fkn deal to lose every other game for the year if it was a given we could flog the pies Anzac Day

All good except for the last bit about making Taylor look good, hooker has been a lot better up forward this year than Taylor (that’s not saying much btw)

If, like me you’re getting a bit confused by the suggestion in this thread, here’s a summary as of 1.30pm EST.

In order of nominations / votes:
OUTS
Brent Stanton 13, Mark Baguley 10, Kelly 7, Conor 6 (& 8 suspensions), tied on 5 votes apiece Jobe, Hurley, Brown and Langford, Green 4, Luey 4, Zaka 2, and “anybody / somebody” - 3 votes.

11 players so far

IN
Francis 20, Stewart 13, Gleeson 10, Hartley & Bird tied on 9, Mutch 5, Dea 4, McNeice & McNernan 3 votes apiece, Begley 2, Belly 1, Hocking 1, Howlett 1, Jerret 1 and Laverde (moon-boot & all) 1

15 players so far. ( Morgan inj. Myers inj. Long susp, Redman inj,)
Draper & Clarke must be wondering what they’ve done wrong.

Anyone we haven’t considered or would like to add?

People keep going on about how we are too slow

What the ■■■■ is the point of having fast ■■■■■■■ players if you can’t win the ball in the middle?

Need to bring in some players who can win some inside ball

Didn’t Goddard lay the best tackle in the game that saved a goal?

I actually really like the idea of McNeice in for McGrath, then McGrath into the midfield for Stanton.

Think Stewart deserves a look in too.

Changes
Ambrose on best forward, not Hurley.

In: Stewart, Francis, Myers
Out: Baguley, Brown, McKenna (Susp)

B: McGrath Ambrose Hooker
Hb: Kelly Hurley Heppell
C: Stanton Myers Goddard
Hf: Colyer Daniher Fantasia
F: Green Stewart Francis
R: Leuy Zerrett Mcdonald-Tipungwuti
Int: Parish, Langford, Zaharakis Watson

Nail down a good defence set up.

He certainly has flexibility but he is slow and his lateral movement isn’t great. It’s one thing to shut down Dixon who although a true medium forward he isn’t quick, certainly cannot play on quick smalls as Morris and Fletcher could do.

I’d like to suggest the omissions of Tippa, Fantasia, Colyer, Goddard, McGrath, Hooker, Parish, Heppell, Ambrose, Joe and Zerrett please thanks

Paddy Ambrose gets the job again for mine. Moore barely touched it in first JLT with Ambrosi oppossed to him. Got a bull$hit free in front of goal for an easy charity but aside from that didnt feature at all.

Yep, save them all from being mentally scarred from this fixture forever
