Really? That’s an amazing call, Eyre did absolutely nothing, Hayes has been good despite playing full back at 18 in a crap side.

I don’t have to go very deep down.
But good sides, certainly sides on the improve whilst they still have a bad day at the office, they atone the next week.
If theres no response its basically telling that Scott has gone the wrong way with these guys. We should be hitting the draft harder, trading out footballers and in 1st rounders.

Hardwick called them a pack of spuds last year and he may not have been too far off the mark.
Can you imagine turning up to your place of employment with thousands of people there urging you on and a salary way above what you deserve? Can you imagine then giving up, waving the white flag, when it all gets a little too hard and just going through the motions, picking up your pay packet at the end of the day?
This is the culture we have at Essendon.
I was really hoping after the disastrous games against the Giants and Collingwood end of last year that Scott would turn things around. Looks like I was wrong.
They need to rebound ASAP or it’s another season down the gurgler. We’ve had some disasters against the Bulldogs too so I can’t say I am all that confident.

I always think of this comment when things go awry with us (so… regularly).
I don’t think this is an opinion solely restricted to Hardwick either.
Anybody who has played sport knows that comments like this are pretty normal/casual from coaches and others closely involved with a team… but I always think what the players would think when this was announced publicly.
Probably minimal carefactor… which is perhaps an issue in itself.
Makes you wonder if it’s the list. Footy is tough. It’s pretty easy for a game to blow out quickly at the top level.
I was really impressed by the quality of our football at the SCG where we didn’t get the chocolates. I thought the Saints game the quality was less so.
I do think the players are likely on the list to play good footy.

In players who can run on top of the ground. Play Caddy, Hayes and ADJ as the Bulldogs aren’t really big.
I would love for this to happen,but the Scott who retired north champions is gone.
He seems to of completely lost his nerve to make the tough calls that our club and team desperately need

Why not just bring in Caddy for Menzie? He can’t be any worst than Menzie, and might actually offer similar pace to help apply pressure (whilst also giving some extra presence in the air).

the problem being, neither are a few of the players already in the seniors.
so like it or not you’re picking him with the view it fast tracks his development, cos playing in the vfl side for anyone, let alone a forward ain’t gonna do ■■■■ for their development at the rabble of a system this club allows it’s vfl program to be run at.
