Thanks chopsuey. I had missed that.

yes

Thanks - I hope he gets another chance soon in a ‘normal’ type of game unlike the Geelong one.

I think Smith is the ideal permanent sub. I think his body is capable of giving bursts like that but not full games very often.

Tex only had 2 touches, but it’s his first taste of football and if we want to develop our list and future, we need to be able to carry a new and developing player.

Dropping him would be a mistake, unless he ran out of gas and needs to be managed?

Devon is only 28.
Might just be conditioning, or is he so injured and beat up now that he can’t get through 120 minutes?

Injuries to our best team and next in line depth keep seeing him get opportunities

Every time you think he should come out of side someone else goes down

If Cutler & Cox return this week he has to be out

His knee is a degenerative day to day management proposition by reports.

I think Devon is good when he’s at 100% intensity/effort, and not great at 95% because of the nature of his game.

I think he’s only capable of those 100% bursts over shorter periods.

Happy to be wrong, but also happy if he could be a reliably, impactful sub for a few years.

I can certainly understand him not liking that role though.

Heppell did OK but I’d like to see him managed against the Dockers. Ridley doesn’t look right either so I’d give him a spell. Voss with his presence and 3 goals in the twos is worth a try up forward also

OUT: Ridley, Heppell, Snelling, Ham, Wanga
IN: Francis, Cutler, Smith, Hobbs, Voss

Team;-

Francis Zerk Kelly
Redman Lav Hind
Durham Caldwell Martin
Perkins Voss Guelfi
Waterman 2MP Smith

Draper Parish McGrath

Bench: Shiel Hobbs Cutler Phillips
SUB: Tippa?

With the nature of us starting 0-3 (and it looks like those three teams are finishing top 3), we can’t afford to be resting important players like Ridley. I’d maybe give Hind a go at half forward this weekend to shake it up. Get Walla in for ANZAC Day, and potentially Stringer if they say he’s only 1-2 weeks away.

In: Smith Cox Cutler (Hobbs)
Out: Wanganeen Snelling Ham

Ridley BZT Kelly
Heppell Laverde Redman
Martin Shiel Durham
Hind Wright Perkins
Smith Phillips Guelfi
Draper Caldwell Parish
McGrath Cutler Cox Waterman
Hobbs (sub)

There’s one compelling reason to keep Ham in next week.
And that’s the real possibility of a Ham vs Colyer battle.
A real Fumble Fight.
Something to unite both sets of fans as the ball slithers around along the flanks as neither player quite manages to pick it up.

I miss Colyer.

He played well on the weekend

Would rather have Colyer then Ham and that’s saying something

Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Also the natural inclination to prefer a player who is better than one who is less good.

Colyer’s not a world beater but he has Ham covered.
