This is going to read a bit ■■■■, but am I the only one who doesn't get inspired with the talk of Ashby, Jerrett or Gleeson coming in?
It’s definitely not exciting, but then known quantities never are.
Jerrett is a better player than people on here give him credit for. He too is lacking in confidence IMHO. He has played three games this year for an average of 18+ possessions. And one of those three games he had 7 and the bltizkreig here decided he was hopeless.
21 & 28 is not a bad output. Could be better but he produces in the the VFL and has demonstrated he is worthy of a recall.

Out of the three, I think Jerrett’s issue isn’t talent, it’s mental. If he can get that side sorted, I believe he has the footy skills - and smarts - to succeed. Ashby and Gleeson, despite being very good in some areas, also have glaring skill deficiencies that look likely to hurt their careers - quite possibly sooner rather than later, especially for Ashby. I hope all three can turn things around and fix their issues soon, so we will remember them for their very good attributes rather than the weaknesses that let them down badly and repeatedly.
Jamar’s a goliath. Pump the ball long to him and have Eades at his feet. Danhiher can work up the ground on strict instructions to take the kick and not play on.
Eades doesn’t deserve a call up, based on what I’ve seen in the two’s. Patchy at best. Needs to earn his spot.
Mc Keenan and Redman deserves another week only because what’s the point in bringing in these guys for one game?. Redman needs another game to understand the scale of the jump to the next level so he can go back to the reserves to improve. Big picture needed, need to develop kids this year, despite what it may mean for the result next week
I would bring in J Merrett, Parish, Langord. Bird just keeps his spot due to need for nidfield grunt. Simpkin out.

I’m interested to see Jerrett again. I still reckon he can make it and it’s good to see him performing well in the 2’s. Not convinced at all about Gleeson or Ashby. If they get another chance in the seniors this year, they better make the most of it or it might be curtains
Hi Guys. My changes for this week would be- In… Darcy Parish, Mark Jamar , Jackson Merrett , Shaun Edwards & Sam Michael. Out… Jonathan Simpkin ( injured) , Shaun McKernan, James Gwilt , James Polkinghorne , Mason Redman . I know a bit harsh on McKernan & Redman but Smack didn’t give us much & l don’t feel he did a lot in the seconds the week before & Redman found the pace a bit daunting from the reserves. Don’t get me wrong l think he will end up being a very good player for us, but I feel he needs to be developed in the reserves this year. I’d also like to see Eades & Long & Morgan but again believe they should all have a good developing year in the reserves.
Also I know we rested Langford & a bit hard on him not coming in but I’d like to see him play in a midfield role in the reserves & get a lot of the ball & build up his confidence then bring him back in.

I disagree , good sir. Eades was running and chasing like a maniac and we desperately need that forward pressure and I think he’s been pretty consistent in that regard. if you’re looking to see him gather 30 possessions in the VFL it ain’t gonna happen, he’s not that type of player.
I agree on McKernan and Redman, but Worsfold shown in the past he has no issue dropping players after one game. McKernan himself was dropped straight away after Round 1. I’d like to see them both stay in, but he may decide that Redman just needs a taste.
People saying you can’t play Jamar because they run it out? They’re already doing that. Minimum he creates a contest and might hurt a few c*nts.
