Pretty happy so far with the team but if I had to make changes next week would probably be as follows:
In - Gresham, Farrow (debut), El Hawli, Day Wicks
Out - Sharp (in), Redman (inj), Kondo (omitted), Perkins (omitted)
Also not opposed to bring in Tsatas for someone. Our midfield is getting killed and the issue is in the ruck of which we do not have any feasible solution. The only possible alternative is Wright full time ruck and May at FF
Langford right on the edge. The two injuries makes it tough for Scott to go too hard on changes as our depth is poor and some better senior players are under done in VFL
El-Achkar is likely one week off going back to VFL. They may pull Gresham card even this week on 6 day break.
Don’t fool yourself, Brad doesn’t make changes. It’ll be the forced ones for injury, maybe a kid is made the scapegoat, but he’s not dropping Parish/Langford/Wright etc.
Parish was our leading clearance player with 8, why are we dropping him? Caldwell had 27 centre bounce attendances for 3 clearances and probably 3-4 of the worst Clanger/fumbles you’ll see on a footy field from a senior player that cost us goals. If we’re dropping someone from midfield he would be in the gun.
I also find it so hard to judge Huss based on team performance the last two weeks. Small forward is the hardest position on the field to make an impact in poor struggling sides. He still does little things every game that show he has the craft. I’d persist and would love to see him play in a team not getting flogged from start to finish.
Round 3 and it will be a test of Scott.
If you genuinely want to win, then you would play Gresham. For all his flaws, he is currently a better player than Huss. On pure experience alone.
He is far more likely to impact the game in a similar role to help us win.
I just wonder if Huss has the fitness to apply the defensive pressive pressure forwards need to apply. Other than that I can see the player he could become. If he doesn’t get Essingtoned.
