I just wish Lav never had all those injuries early on in his career. I loved the way he moved, and he plays like a man with a much older body with the accumulation of all those soft tissue problems.
He’s 29 in a couple of days, he plays like a guy much nearer retirement than that age should indicate.
I also keep hearing in these venerable pages that AFL players are ageing like fine wine, with extended careers going out into their late 30s.
Would the average age of 25.5 indicate end of career most likely through being cut from the list, rather than retirement? Most footballers wouldn’t have a choice when their career is done.
Regardless of how he is, I’d play 2MP at full forward to negate May’s presence. May would destroy a youngster like Caddy. As well, apart from Caddy, who is likely to play FF. Jones is tall but he would also be demolished. I not even thinking of naming a side, but Sedderfield is no Cadwell, but he is tall and adds strength to the midfield. Tsastas and Perkins are now available. Start El-Hawli on the ground when the match start - no sub for this guy.
