I’m surprised Tsatas isn’t straight back in, and surprised to an extent that Perkins is. Setterfield isn’t the worst shout, especially if they’re looking at him for a run-with role on Oliver or Petracca.

Don’t mind Setterfield playing but we need to be giving Tsatas as much playing time as possible. If his hand hasn’t healed as expected, just say it?

They’ve been playing a few quicker players in there. So hopefully he doesn’t end up on Pickett or Langdon. I think even Viney out paced Setterfield. I’m comfortable sitting him on Oliver thought.
But Melbourne is the only team I can think of where Setterfield is of benefit in the midfield rotation.

He’d be a good match-up against Fark Carlton and playing a stopping role on Cripps. But yeah it’s a pretty limited group you would look at and say he’s a good selection for specific opponents.

we lose a mid to injury. Instead of giving his midfield minutes to our young mids like Tsatas and Hobbs…nah lets give it to a guy who won’t be on the list next year.

I don’t think that’s a good matchup either. Only because they can push Cripps up forward and be a one-on-one marking target. Then we are stuck throwing Setterfield out on a wing or on the bench.
I’d still prefer to go to Tsatas though.
Another positive is that we can also play Hobbs in the midfield as he’s a great matchup for Viney. But I’m not confident we do that often either. It’ll be one of Setterfield or Hobbs with Merrett, Durham and/or Shiel.
His hand must have not healed properly is the only explanation i can think of
then why is he named as emergency?

Given Caldwell is out Setterfield a good in, when fit and played in his preferred inside mid position strong contributor and if they match him on on Oliver perfect role.
I’d assume Tsatas still not shown enough on track post hand injury. Only just back to full training this week and in a glove. He’ll be back in soon enough, BScott said as much when pressed about Shiel’s midfield time. Albeit Parish not far off either though
Perkins seemed a logical on for Edwards also
