Changes v St Kilda - Swing the Axe

Why would you drop Ambrose before Carlisle? Has consistently performed better than Jakey in every game. Some people remember the Jake hype from when he played back and clearly haven’t been watching his career desintegrate over the last 14 months. I am on the Carlisle bandwagon but he clearly isn’t working as a forward.

Out: Carlisle, Chappy
In: Langford, Edwards

Any danger of a small forward type getting a gig, ever. Fk id trade just about anyone for a betts/ballantyne

Its orazio time. Is he even a genuine FP? prob not.

There was a specialist small forward going begging in the trade period. We’d end up playing someone like Garlett as a mid anyway. Chappy is clearly not up to midfield anymore yet we throw him outside 50 regularly & even Merrett who showed some promise forward is now rarely sighted close to goal.

Don’t need wholesale changes. Play according to the conditions and see what happens. Get 22 fit blokes might help too. Zaka and Carlisle obviously not 100%

Quicker coaching staff realise some of our senior players wont win the club our flag the better. Some players will just give you what they will only bring to the table nothing.

Bring in some pace and some youth.

just don't play injured blokes simple. And Dempsey isn't ready.

I think i must have been watching a different game today at the ground…“Dempsey isn’t ready” - he did well today…

I agree with points made by Ben and HAP.

Langford has to come in for Ambrose. We desperately need another avenue/s to goal.
So much to like about Ambrose but marking and goals ain’t his bag.
We are crying out for some pace and unpredictability in the forward half, enter Edwards.

Ashby comes in since Dalgleish ain’t ready.

Out - Chapman, Ambrose, Gleeson
In - Ashby, Langford, Edwards

I’d like to wait until after the vfl game tomorrow but I like the look of those changes.

if i was swinging the axe.

Out: Chappy (rest/sore) Ambrose (Rest) Gleeson, hams (Omitted)
In: Langford McKernan, Ashby Fantasia
Emg: Gleeson, Ambrose, Edwards
Rest ambrose and try mckernan as ruck/forward. to try different structure
Play fantasia as small crumbing forward Or Edwards

B Baguley Hooker Fletcher
HB Hibberd Hurley Dempsey
C Stanton Watson Colyer
HF Goddard Carlisle Merrett
F McKernan Daniher Fantasia
R Bellchambers Heppell Melksham
Int Howlett, Ashby, Zaharakis
Sub: Langford

was happy with dempseys performance today.
Hurley/Carlisle to swap at half time if they are struggling.
or sub a under performing tall out.

Need to switch on versus saints.
100% from the first bounce and dont let up.

the only problem is that tomorrows VFL game is likely to be played in an monsoon level slop, which certainly wont suit guys like The Langford and Edwards, and we are suppose to use this as a gauge to pick guys for a game at Etihad

No changes for mine

in pace, out scania

Giles in for Carlisle.
Jackson Merrett in for Chappy.

Carlisle to gather from in the reserves. Giles and Bellchambers to halve their time in the ruck and forward.
Merrett is probably better suited to the midfield / forward role than anyone else.

Alex browne thanks

gees, id shudder at the idea of Giles and Belly in the same team, thats slow as ■■■■ already

I know it’s slim pickings, but bringing in langford means your 3 main forwards can’t outmuscle players, surely that’s shuffling the deckchairs and creating a new problem.

Carlisle is the one that has to go for mine. Give him a couple off weeks of and either play him down back or not at all, it’s just not worth persisting with anymore him or hurley as forwards is not the answer, they will never be forwards so stop trying to make them into something they aren’t or don’t want to be.

One of the other rucks has to come in now, enoughs enough. Belly is not in a position to carry the ruck for a full game.

I said it before the game but they needed to bring in a like for like when Cooney went out. They got him to the club for a reason, which was to be the smart hff’er, so why then do they replace him with dempsey and or Hams ?

I don’t care how Edwards plays tomorrow just get him in the side and see what the ■■■■ he can do, He’s never gonna dominate at VFL level so waiting til that event to give him a crack is pointless.

other than that pretty much irrelevant who comes in, if you don’t bring the right mindset none of the in’s will make a difference.

And it’s gonna be a bit of a lose lose situation to boot. If they come out focussed with the right mindset and smash the Saints it’s why haven’t they had that the last 2 weeks.
IF they lose well, that’s just not gonna be good.

Out: Carlisle, Ambrose, Chapman, Zaharakis.
In: Langford, someone else, someone else and someone else.

Carlisle needs to find form
Ambrose is too slow and can’t find the footy.
Chapman needs a week off after that bad knock.
Zaharakis refuses to run both ways and needs to learn a lesson.

I can’t justify who deserves to come in as I’m not a big VFL watcher. Suggestions?

Will Browne come into the fold if he has a good game tommorow? Maybe at the expense of Chappy (injury) or Gleeson?

Not that I think today will change their minds but for mine, a small forward option is something we simply must find if we are any hope of winning a final this year. Our forward line is dysfunctional & has been for some time. We must develop Edwards &/or Fanta up forward or at least find out if they have any future. Edwards must be close to being the longest a traded player has waited before getting a game for his new club. Play him.

I’m with benfti (and a few others it seems) that we need something different in the forward line. Edwards seems like about the only option (it might be McKenna) in 12 months.

The biggest issue today was the stupid slow chip it around ball movement. But we still need someone who provides a different type of threat.

Well it’s certainly interesting in here.

Pies read us like a open book today. Well coached Nathan.

Carlisle was good last week.

If he’s not injured he plays.
