We’ll start you deep in the forward pocket … for the first 3 quarters. You’ll be fine
Personally doubt wright will come straight back in. Tsatas has done nothing wrong so likely he will come in and Draper will ruck. Jones as back up is not great but we keep our team a bit more mobile
Have I mentioned that Tsatas can’t kick recently?
WAT ?
As good as he is, he’s just about the last type of player they need.
They need a Durham/Young/JHF type to explode out the front of stoppage.
Harley Reid or Butters.
Nup. Hobbs been good. No way you can drop him.
Surely a mature aged ruck is in mid season draft plans now?
Rowell has added burst to the outside fairly big time, this year.
Did you see any of his play over the weekend?
Yes.
The Hawks top 4 centre square mids range in height from 186 - 198cm, and they’re all big units.
They don’t need another BBM.
They need a line breaker out of stoppage with more pace and leg drive that Day, Newcombe, Worpel and Nash can give them.
Mackenzie is classy but he isn’t the player I described.
It’s strange to link Rowell with Hawthorn, when Essendon, Collingwood or St.Kilda have a far greater need for him.

Apologies! But at the same time we have people harping in here that we should be desperately trying to throw matches.
My family doesn’t pay a couple of grand for memberships to turn up and watch 18 footballers, a coach, and selection panel conspiring to toss matches.
I also get the mid table debacle every god damn year!
but you’ll happy pay a couple of grand a year, and lose through ineptitude and being a poorly run club with an ingrained losing culture that way ? because that’s different how exactly ?
Was at the game live and they were ■■■■■■■ terrible. It was also bloody hot (+32 degrees) and they looked rooted by the end of the game!
Thanks indeed!
Firstly I’m not happy paying that amount, period.
Secondly I don’t pay to watch the back office staff conduct administration, I go to sit in the stands and support players who wear the colours and do their best to win games, like my parents and their parents did back at Windy Hill.
If you don’t see the difference then I really can’t help you.

Maybe, but Brad doesn’t like structural changes and Peter Wright coming in would mean Draper spending more time in the ruck, but Goldy coming in keeps Draper forward more often. If Draper had gone down Brad would be looking at 2MP to fill that role. And I think that’s probably how it’s viewed, 2MP is our back up Draper and Goldy is our back up Bryza.
bhahaha brad doesn’t like structural changes.
plays most of the first half of last year with 2 rucks, draper gets injured, goes with a 50 yr old goldstein one out.
ridley, mckay and laverde in the backline, ridley gets a long term injury, only plays lav and mckay
Redman gets suspended, throws a forward down back for one game, ditto when hepp i think it was was out for a game or two, maybe kelly.
There is nothing structural about scots team selections, it’s a simple case of he picks people he likes, and if he doesn’t like you or doesn’t rate you yet, he doesn’t pick you.
I can understand the argument for either Goldy or Wright to come in.
Personally, I think this is precisely the reason Goldy is on the list. He’s in good form, seasoned, experienced and importantly frees draper up to continue working on his forward craft. He can ruck 70% in AFL with his eyes closed.
Wright can support in the ruck but would have to primarily be key forward and Wright in both those roles is concerning.
The only thing I’d say is, whichever way we go, we should commit to it for the next 2 weeks. Friday essentially becomes a structural warm up for anzac day.
I’d fire Goldy up for a big fortnight in the ones, including a final anzac day, and then reset as needed after the Pies.
No other changes this week.
Prior did okay, but I would Bring El H in for a full game. Tsatas should come in but no mid deserves dropping atm.
Tsatas the sub. Unless Perko is sub.
I would take Goldy over west. Planes are not big enough for 2MP. Goldy can have a 4 week spell after cramping up on the plane home. 2MP in for Anzac Day.
You ever heard of a coach selecting players he doesn’t like? Would be highly unusual.

Firstly I’m not happy paying that amount, period.
Secondly I don’t pay to watch the back office staff conduct administration, I go to sit in the stands and support players who wear the colours and do their best to win games, like my parents and their parents did back at Windy Hill.
If you don’t see the difference then I really can’t help you.
there’s not really a difference in the end result. you ultimately pay a couple of grand a year to watch 18 footballers, a coach and a selection panel more often than not having a losing season, no finals win, and stuck in a quire mire of their own incompetence.
but as long as they continue to chase that dream, you’re ok with it, gotcha.
you are apart of the reason the club doesn’t change. idiots who fork over thousands of dollars a year to watch one of the worst run sporting organisations in australia.
now before the usual suspects chime in, imagine if it was a carlton supporter saying the exact same things, you’d all laugh at someone wasting money to go watch that tripe.
apart, or a part?
It would be frankly boring carrying on an argument with you.

Wright has only had 1 VFL practice match back from injury, I don’t think that’s enough to be ready for an AFL game. May not have even rucked at all in it either.
He needs to be cherry ripe fitness and confidence wise with his marking touch back
The only consideration on a maybe is it is ONLY West Coast and could be a confidence boosting game
In saying that I still don’t think now is the time, Goldy in the last VFL proper game had 25 disposals and 45 hit outs. He’s in form and West Coast don’t have a top line ruck anyway.
Given we had a good win & the mids who he might replace played well there is no pressing need to bring Tsatas up yet, who has now had 3wks of no footy, he can come back via VFL and regain his touch & get confidence in his hand.
OUT: Bryan
IN: Goldy
I just can’t see any justification for playing Goldy. Wc don’t have a single kpd with runs on the board. If we bringing in a tall it should be 2mp and we cross our fingers and hope he gets a soft match up and some good delivery to boost his confidence.
If not we should just roll with Jones again
