Changes vs Blues

I think we’ve been too tall all year and the forecast weather, along with Joe’s injury, gives us an opportunity to redress that. If we have to bring in a tall then it has to be McKernan, who is a good ground ball player and handy in the wet. And he gives us a ruck chop-out (I dislike Stewart playing ruck as he has little idea).

Like to see Clarke make his debut, and surely Langford gets a call up.

Change: Dry weather footy game plan ( what ever that is) to wet weather footy game plan ( if we have one) Play man on man. Kick the ball forward off the ground, etc etc.

Remember 2017 how Carlton beat us by retaining possession with a short kicking in the midfield game plan, They killed us for inside 50s.

From the Williamstown game in a loss.

Can play wet weather footy

Funny that I come on here and get Swimart ads. Going to need the floaties on if we are to win this one.

That isn’t traditional wet weather footy.

Whatever it is, Carlton executed it well in the wet and beat us.

Dockerty was allowed to be loose across half back all game and had about 50 possessions.

May have seemed like that Docherty 20, Simpson 21. Docherty took game high 9 marks, they beat us for marks 78 to 52. Its called keepings off.

Hope for a win… I want change @westozziebomber but I can’t ever hope for anything less than a ritual smashing of FC.

However with the chances of rain and both teams form… this could be the ugliest game of footy played in have a century imho. I’m predicting turnover city and just a hot sloppy mess.

Changes won’t be made so what’s the point of even hoping. It will be JD out and Fanta in and that is about it. Can’t remember a time when I have been less enthused about a Carlscum game.

You’re right. Simpson was also left to his own devices for most of the game.

In WEt weather specialists “Mark McGough” types…enter Clarke

If our mids could use the ball as well as Bomb Doe uses the apostrophe we’d be top 4.

Wet weather football is essentially playing in front and putting your head over the ball. Play the percentages - that would mean cutting back on handballs when a kick, short or long, will suffice. If I remember rightly we used our dry weather style last year and got belted. If we try and run it out with a chain of handball the inevitable turnover will kill us. Simplicity, willingness and footy smarts is the key to wet weather footy.

I’d like to see the following ins : Razz, Clarke, The Langford.
Can’t see them dropping Myers, so apart form Joe Dan I have no clue who’ll be out.

Guelfi was rested so surely he is an in.
Surely Walla will join JD on the injured list. I have a couple more sure things but Woosha doesn’t seem to go with surely.

IF Walla has been playing injured, and he certainly looks it, I cant see how having him run around on a very wet and heavy ground is going to do him much good.

He gets a rest for mine.
