Changes vs GWS (2020, round 10) - speculation

It’s probably good that GWS played ■■■■ and won. Hopefully they don’t address anything this week

You ask them for a date if you are so keen!

Should be a nice belting heading our way, another step forward to that juicy early pick.

Is the decision not to play a tagger a Woosha one still?

lol Stallion, I’m not sure who’s more broken out of you or crazybomber

Can’t wait to see who the best half back flanker that can play mid will be.

gws could play 17 men on the field and they’d still beat us

i reckon anyone living in melbourne who happens to barrack for essendon is broken atm.

It’s a bit like that isn’t it dkp? I can handle a pandemic, I can handle us playing putrid footy, not sure I can handle them both at the same time.

I’m kind of at that point where I have little emotion for the game anymore. I don’t watch hardly any footy outside of Essendon and the only thing that’s keeps me watching them is because I have always loved them. I still get excited for the wins but I kind of just shrug my shoulders when we lose.

I am totally dismayed at the people running the club though.

Bellcho out. McKennan in. Draper does 80% ruck with McKernan 20%. That Almost gives us an extra player, from what Bellcho gave v lions.

Cahill out for mozzie. Rotate the new blokes. Like for like.

Langers in for ham. Ham needs a spell. And some protein powder.

If umpiring breaks even for us, we are a good chance.

I’d agree with all that.

Plus likely McKenna in for Redman

Load of garbage as usual.
In fact- many Essendon supporters in Melbourne are gearing up for a tough 6 weeks but nowhere near broken.
The anticipation of better performances from EFC with the likes of Draper getting more games, Mozzie on the cusp, Langers getting back in etc is quite exciting.

I repeat. Twenty years of mediocrity. Better only than Carlton and Melbourne In win loss percentage over 2 decades. AOD 964, salary cap troubles, no current superstars, first round pick traded (?), no leadership. The only thing we excel at is telling ourselves we’re a superpower with Collingwood and Richmond. You are joking. We are middle ground battlers. Disappointing thing is there’s never any admission that we need a reboot; that things are stuffed. We plough on believing our own over egged PR blather.

Agreed.

Mckeena’ absence completely removed our defensive run.

Both Gleeson & Francis have been rubbish and I just don’t think we gain anything by having both in the side.

Gleeson is the weakest link in our back line. That said Francis is teetering on average. However on talent alone I think he should stay as he has a much higher ceiling and should be able to recapture his good form again.

It’s funny with Ridley being so dominant. He is vastly superior to Gleeson & Francis and they all play similar roles. Or at least used too. Ridley just does everything Vastly better and is vastly more consistent.

Anyway, Gleeson should be omitted.

Bellchambers offer vastly less than Smack.

I think that he is extremely important to our forward set up, If he doesn’t mark it he brings the ball down for our smalls.
Despite his critics, he is a very important player as a key marking forward.

I would also dump Stewart and bring in Phillips.

This way, we can have Phillips & “Tiny”Draper switch between ruck & forward.

Let’s be honest, Cahill was also very poor. 3 touches, zero effectiveness.
But the young guys need to remain in the side.

Does anyone think Townie needs a rest? Could Begley play this role??

Langford comes into the side for Zaharakis. Please make it happen.

You’d really just rather they grubbed it along the ground when outside the 50. Would seriously give our blokes more of a chance.

mozza can leap for the ball if it’s kicked on his head. 20m away from him against 2 players that gives him time to weave some magic.

what will it achieve.

gets his debut out of he way, gives him a taste of the big time. see how he adjusts to the level.

I see the first game as a blank canvas, I know lots of us will have some expectations, but it’s the unknown, he could kick 3 goals including the match winner, or not get a touch. You just roll the dice.

Don’t do it to yourself mate. We are ■■■■■■■ cooked.

I would leave Stewart in with McKernan , greater chance to at least crash packs and bring it down.

I wouldn’t play two rucks again all year. The pros of doing so do not outweigh the cons.

Dictator Dan looks to lock down Melbourne, but Essendon can’t bring themselves to lock down the opposition’s best mid!
