There is great upside playing without Heppell for our midfield in terms of that area of the ground.
We have won clearances and inside 50s against a very good midfield unit in Brissy. I think thats a massive positive. We were deadset dominant against Adelaide. Will be interesting against the best in that area this week. I feel that Hepp will actually have to work for his spot a little, even as captain!
The big con is our forward line. No Joe or String is very frustrating. We havent brought any senior experience if they are ready for it for guys like Harrison or Gown. And our small forwards are struggling without quality big men to go to work under.
Honestly we havenāt got many tricks left to pull but I donāt think we can play Draper and tbell together again and we canāt drop Draper.
One hand or not we missed McKenna terribly. Iāll be filthy if heās done more damage. Smack probably has something wrong too. Anyway, I chose optimism.
Out: tbell Gleeson ham Cahill
In: smack Conor Langford moz
Hurls zerk Francis
Saad Connor Ridley
Cutler merret langford
Draper McGrath Shiel
Snelling Stewart Smith
Tippa smack townsend
Redman Parish Zaha Moz
Feels like weāre shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic though. If smack isnāt fit, bring in Phillips. If Conor isnāt fit bring in guelfi. My optimism is fading fast.
i thought last night we went too tall in the backline and lost our runā¦redman on cameron well no thanks but if you put saad on him wheres the run coming fromā¦
out poor team selection
in blitz team selectionā¦
yes for 1 game a year here at blitz you actually get the chance to pick the team that runs outā¦now wouldnt that be fun!
What the hell is going on with McKenna? He played poorly last weekend, no doubt, but heās one of our best players and blind freddy could see how much he was missed last night. He was out as āmanagedā and then plays in some Mickey Mouse ā ā ā ā ā ā ā scratch match? Redman and Gleeson in ripping form, too. Unbelievable. Thatās the fourth time heās been overlooked for selection when available this year. He might as well go home to Ireland right now.
